Pies rock, I agree with your sentiment, as for last year though we were certainly far from raging favourites, we'd lost to the tiges and had just beaten the weagles by a point at home! They will lift and barring an absolute quagmire (when did it rain last in Melbourne?) we will win convincingly.

Carlton had lost by 13 goals at Optus Oval against Sydney ?? Didn't score a goal in the second half ?? They only scored four behinds in the third quarter and were scoreless in the last quarter. I would have thought we should have been hot favourites to win. I think thats partly why i was so so so disappointed after tha game as i went there expecting to win by 10 goals

Exactly, they were made to look not just second rate, but third rate by a pretty ordinary Swans side, and they still rolled us. Carlton couldn't beat eggs last season, but they still lifted for our match. It's not out of the realms that they'll do it to us again this year.

Yeah we're a better side now, but we're still far from our best. We were very scratchy early on last week and our forwards didn't look like taking a grab. Without Burns, Presti and Josh it's definitely a danger game, particularly if the Blooze are switched on. The windy conditions at the G won't be conducive to free flowing football, so it'll be a fair scrap. Surely we'll get up, but there are parallels between this week and Round 3 last year.

as we draw closer to the match.....1 MORE SLEEP to go....I have two concerns

1. I dont believe josh or presti will play....not really too concerned but I would prefer those blokes on the park

2. just spoke to a rfew carlton supporters....I feel soooo dirty....but they are all expecting the blues to get pumped.....lets hope mick has reminded them of what happened last year......we were the laughing stock for 15 or 16 rounds as the ONLY side who lost too carlton.....

BURY THEM EARLY......THEN GO FOR PERCENTAGE!!!!!!

Sounds stupid, but this looms as a 'minor' danger game for us. I try not to read too much into last time round stats etc etc, but all the papers today are mentioning the fact that the moos beat us this time round last year (how can we forget?). Having said all of that, we should win and comfortably at that. Too much class & talent across the whole team. I cant see who is going to kick a big score for them and who will stop our boys from kicking a winning score. We really need to make the most of these games and make sure we get big points up on the board and boost our percentage - go pies!!

DENIS PAGAN LED TEAMS HAVE A FINE REPUTATION OF HITING BACK HARD AFTER A THUMPING. THERES NO DOUBT THE BLUES WILL HAVE A RED HOT GO, BUT FOR WHAT ITS WORTH, IF THEY GET WITHIN 12 GOALS OF THE BLACK AND WHITE, THEY CAN GO HOME CONTENT

Like the scum last week, this weeks' scum will employ the same tactics. Although the toothless tiges inadvertently played crap, scraggy football ( they actually think they are playing "really good") the calscum side will be set deliberately to play a style of game designed to stop any creativity or free flowing football.
They have lost all credibility with their supporters and sponsors and will be trying to salvage something, anything from this game. A win is not as important as stopping a 10 goal massacre. Remember St Kilda this time last year?
It will, no doubt, be a frustrating game to watch (and to play in) for a quarter or two but class will prevail in the end. To those who are going tonight - MAKE IT LOUD Cheers

according to the Daily Telegraph,MM has TOLD the guys to watch out for Carlton,as this time last year they came off a thrashing from Sydney, only to come out and beat the PIES by 20 points. That was round 3 last year. The only difference this time is that its round 2 and not 3.
I believe that the boys are 10 goals better than Blues, but time will tell.
The DT also says that amongst the 6 players we lost this year Carl Steinfort was one of them,WHAT happened to him????
Kristin5.Your message came thru, but was BLANK,can you try it again.

Steinfort felt his opportunities as a midfielder were limited and persued other clubs, before deciding to hang up his boots and concentrate on his Wizard Home Loans branch...he's only about 25 years old.

They have the forwards to hurt us. Fevola was off target last week. He kicks goals against us.

Our centreline has to stop the ball going past them and keep attacking.

Clement to add another notch to his belt and show the blues how over rated Kouta is. Kouta will be Clemo's bitch tonight.

Prediction, tight for the 1st half, Pies will explode in the third (Premiership) qtr and then coast home in the last to win in a non inspiring football match which will be hardly worthy of the 60000+ fans attending.

Which do you think will be larger?

Carlton's final score, or the number of their supporters still there when the siren blows?
