Post subject: Fraser Gherig - Certainty!Reply with quote

Just heard on the news (although I missed most of it) something about Fraser Gherig being a certainty to come to Collingwood. All that needs to be sorted out are the details. I believe that is what I heard. Was there anything else to add?

Gherig is out of contract is he not? Anyway doesn't that mean he can go wherever he likes, without being traded?

Great!

Another overpaid super-hero with a bad knee.

Jeez, we can sure pick 'em.

Uncontracted players go into the draft.

St Kilda have the first (and second) pick in the next draft. We will have the third pick.

ok, having Gherig at Collingwood would be a huge advantage i mean our forward lines needs it so much now that the legendry sav has gone... But if we are going to have to give him some ridiculois amount to actually come here then maybe its not worth it if he is only coming to us for the money and not fore the passiont hen maybe its not a good thing.... I mena the last thing we need is for him to come to us and play with no passion... Thats what we are known for our passion not just the money!!!!

Dont get me wrong i would love to have him there he is a great player and we really do need him!!!!!!!

I was wondering Alf, seeing as though Buckley just had surgery on his knee, is he now an overpaid super hero with a bad knee?

Probably, Joel.

But then, is there any such thing as a footballer who doesn't have a bad kneee?

And absolutely ALL footballers are overpaid ... without exception.

So, yeah. I guess that includes Buckley.

Alf, Alf, Alf,

Footballers are not overpaid! Other people are underpaid.

If Gehrig is OK he's just the sort of big bastard we could use to replace Sav. If my memory serves me correctly, Fraser's turning circle is a little smaller than that of the Titanic, which makes him a little nippier than Sav too!

i dont think players are over paid, i wouldn't want to train like every day of the year, and during preseason when it is about 35 degrees they have to run and run and run for about 3 hours, no way i would do that. at the start of this year during preseason training dale baynes had to get helped off the ground cos he was that stuffed he could hardly walk, i dont think he is overpaid, maybe the players that are getting heaps like kouta are overpaid but most of them aren't

Fraser Gehrig's another left-footer. I'm not sure that's a good thing for us at this point. We already have a couple in the midfield and forward line in Tarrant and Licuria. Left footers tend to be very one sided because of the arc they seem to run in preparation to kick. We need flexibility.
