I can't believe this, it must be a bluff.
I am handing in my social club membership if this is true.
Pies miss as Gehrig elects Saints

This way to Moorabbin: Fraser Gehrig opts for the Saints.
Fraser Gehrig will join St Kilda later this week after an in-principle deal was yesterday struck between all parties.
In return for the homesick Gehrig, West Coast will gain strongman David Sierakowski from the Saints and a third-round national draft selection.
Gehrig, who attracted keen interest from several clubs, particularly Collingwood and Sydney, surprised by nominating St Kilda as the club of his choice.
He met the Saints last week and agreed to join them after appearing highly likely to join Collingwood.
In theory, the Saints could have secured Gehrig cheaply with their guaranteed first pick in the pre-season draft, but they have shown goodwill in their dealings with the Eagles.
The Gehrig-Sierakowski deal is set to be the first big swap in this year's player trading, which starts today and ends next Tuesday at 2pm.

Yeah, looks like its a deal that never was now. I hope we don't end up trading draft picks for old duds. If nothins around, stick with kids. |

Ok,
Firstly The Age do get alot of things wrong, but I tell ya if this is true.. Let me have him, God we all were so sure of getting him, Steven Quatermain said it was paractically a done deal.. We coulda really used him.. I mean who in their right mind would pick St KIlda over Collingwood, This is so much crap i cant believe he isnt gonna come to Collingwood, I was so excited that we were going to get him and now he changes his mind on us.. I thought finally we are going to get a few palyers that we could really use through the trading period..
OH well lets still hope, we will just wait till it happens.
I agree with Joffa lets all have him

well gehrig would want to go to the saints cos they are shti and he will look like a f*ckin legend compared to them dickheads, he will win everything like their version of the copeland etc and they also have no one to pay down their so he can get about 6 million a year and they will still be able to pay all the other players. |

Looks like you'll have to change your name, Member.
Don't worry. There's plenty more fish in the sea. And as I keep on pointing out, Gehrig's got a knee problem. Let St.Kilda worry about it.

Hello All,
My close sources have told me the reason why this article came out in the Age.
Collingwood and West Coast have been negotiating for a while.
West Coast asked for our 3rd pick and paul williams for Gehrig.
Collingwood told them to get stuffed and that they would pick Gehrig up in the pre-season draft.
As soon as West coast herd that they went into action mode.
They approached Saints to do an in principle deal with the hope that Gehrig would agree.
West coast and Saints agreed but Gehrig didn't change his mind at all which has been proved to me and its in the papers.
Greg Denham the journo that wrote the article is a west coast supporter with links there.
He was given the story so it could put pressure on collingwood to deal with West coast.
Greg has a history of not checking up his stories.
Welcome back Gehrig |

Just learnt that the Saints for Gehrig rumour is waht West Coast want, but Gehrig is trying to hold out for a trade to Collingwood. Apparently West Coast wanted our pick #3 and we've told all clubs NO.
I hope they stick to that.
And this means Gehrig's still a chance (could hold out for pre-season draft, but St K could still nab him there before us) |
