"St Kilda's bold bid to snare West Coast Eagles star Fraser Gehrig from under Collingwood's nose is still far from sealed.

St Kilda and West Coast have reached an in-principle agreement, in which the Saints give up David Sierakowski and a second-round pick (18 overall) for Gehrig.

However, the deal also requires Gehrig to agree to terms.

Gehrig is believed to favor Collingwood because of his former coach Mick Malthouse.

Gehrig's manager Ron Joseph said yesterday Collingwood was still Gehrig's first preference.

"It surprised me to hear he was heading to St Kilda and the deal was done," Joseph said.

"I don't think Fraser's changed from wanting to play at Collingwood next year."

Talks between Collingwood and West Coast over Gehrig have stalled after the Pies refused to budge on their third pick in the national draft.

Collingwood is leading the chase to secure talented Richmond flanker Nick Daffy, while Hawthorn has also shown interest.

Richmond would be seeking an early draft pick for Daffy."

I agree Joffa,
Cant Collingwood see we need Fraser so bad, without Sav there who is the big man gonna be there to have some guidence.. If Gerihg's prefered team is Collingwood then just bloody well get him here...... I wont be happy till he actually signs the bloody deal
