Sports admin looks like a get-rich-quick scheme for a privileged group of people who protect each other. Just look at R. Castle and Rugby Australia. They destroy one sports organization, but then with no effort at all get higher-paying jobs at another. If you look in the ball tampering thread, you'll see all sorts of cringe-worthy stuff about Amarfio... but after his CA sacking, he's ended up with a cushy job at North Melbourne.
