The 50th anniversary of the disaster of the 1970 GF loss is coming up, you can bet Lane will mention that often this year, he loves stirring the shit out of us and when the late middle aged old fart Blues meet for their 50th reunion, to gloat yet again, he will be front and center as compere, gloatiing his pug ugly face off. No wonder i hate Carltons guts, no wonder, as we all do. Lane is the personification of all the shit his mob stands for, going right back to the Elliott years of rorting the salary cap, and downright cheating. Glad his mob have racked up double our wooden spoons, thats something anyway.!

When we play Carlton, Tim Lane will always mention the Wayne Harmes GF incident. It's like he eagerly waits for the ball to almost go out of bounds in that pocket of the MCG just to raise it.

Lane seems to mention the disaster of the 1970 GF any chance he gets too, for younger Pies fans,we were nearly eight goals up at half time, against his Bluebellies, and still lost by ten points, i could not be consoled that night. He seems to love to shove that game at us, and that does, to put it mildly, shit me to tears. Rolling Eyes Surprised

Sadly for many of us, the chance for revenge might never appear in our lifetimes.

They beat us again in 79 and 81 of course. They even beat us in our 125 year game.

Whatever, doesn't matter if Lane is a good bloke and it got taken out of context -- he threw Eddie under the bus and he and the club endured unfair crap because of it, and us fans had to endure crap commentating as well.
