Thanks for sharing K.
Quote: | Langdon, who was weighing up retirement in March, ran at full speed in an hour-long session away from the main group at Olympic Park Oval.
In a promising sign, the 25-year-old who is contracted until the end of 2021, then completed light skills as his teammates were put through four 20-minute quarters of match simulation. |

The club has been sharing photos and video of Langdon at training, putting out a good vibe. Although he isn't ready to play yet, those signs are good.
Just waiting on an official report of some kind... It cant be far off.
We know Treloar (calf) has been ruled out for round 2, but is a short term issue.
We know Brody Mihocek was under an injury cloud, but has been spotted at training.
We know that Cox has bone-brusing in his knee and is expected to be back in full training by Wednesday.
We know Ben Reid had a setback and may miss a lot of time, which puts some doubt on his career.
We know Travis Varcoe, Lynden Dunn and Matt Scharenberg have been fully training.
And we know that Levi Greenwood and Tom Langdon have been doing the minor things at training but are around the playing group.
Which still leaves a question over Dayne Beams, who has not been to the club at all.
Right now, Reid, Greenwood and Langdon are the major concerns, with Levi and Tom showing great signs at training this week. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

As mentioned earlier Cox didnt train today as was planned and is expected to return to full training on Wednesday.
My gut feeling is that there is some doubt that he'll be right to play Richmond, but we'll see. The game is still ten days away.
De Goey wasn't out on the track today, but he remained indoors and was mentioned that there's no need for alarm. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Two players on Monday at a glance were super fit looking—both bulked up from what I recall March
Maybe time spent over lay off in gym has Jamie Elliot and Issac Quaynor looking so big and strong
Very pleasing to see _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Do we need to start a 'Where's Willy' page to get some info on Will Kelly? While I expect it's more of a reflection of the current environment than anything in particular, but I rarely hear or read snippets of late. He'll get the nickname 'the ghost' before long.
Going to be hard to develop players on field craft until the VFL cranks back up. _________________ "The Club's not Jock, Ted and Gerry" (& Eddie)

H was a fabulous player for a long period of time for us. He was a better running half-back than any player on our list. Quaynor will have to develop dramatically to be half as good as H. I hope he does, of course, but he’s a long way short of any real comparison, just now. |

^ I agree P4S that H was a great player. When you say that he was a better running half-back than any on our list, I assume that you mean our current list. If so, then you are absolutely correct, as I think Noble is the only running half-back we have on the list and he is clearly not (yet) in H's class.
Maynard, Howe & Crisp are great players but I would not classify them as running half-backs.
Neither, for that matter is Quaynor from what little I have seen.
Pity, because running half-backs like Essendon's Said and Connor are very damaging and make for a good spectacle. _________________ Side by side. |

Crisp fits into the category, but he has moved into more of a mid.
I'd love to have the old Harry and BJ on the flanks again. Those were exciting days.
Buckley was trying to groom Ben Sinclair in that role, but injury got the better of him. Maybe IQ could work out there, but he doesn't have the explosive pace that H possessed. |

Talking about Heretier, his mother and half-brother were on the SBS Insight program this week, talking about sexual abuse within the family and the suicide of his step-father. H would've endured some pretty tough emotional times in his final years at the Pies |

But is he injured?? This is, after all, the injury thread. |

Well I hope not. Didn't deserve another thread. _________________ "The Club's not Jock, Ted and Gerry" (& Eddie)
