The Champions League Semi Final ties are now completed as PSG and Bayern Munich have advanced to the Champions League Final for 2020.

PSG will be playing in their first Champions League final and looking to make history as being the second French club after Marseille to win the competition.

Bayern Munich will be looking to win their 6th Champions League final and their first since 2013 when they defeated Borussia Dortmund. Bayern Munich have been champions in 1974, 1975, 1976, 2001 and 2013.

Road to the Final:

PSG:

Group Stage:
Match 1 - PSG 3-0 Real Madrid
Match 2 - Galatasaray 0-1 PSG
Match 3 - Club Brugge 0-5 PSG
Match 4 - PSG 1-0 Club Brugge
Match 5 - Real Madrid 2-2 PSG
Match 6 - PSG 5-0 Galatasaray

Knockout Stage:
Round of 16 - PSG 3-2 Borussia Dortmund (over two legs)
Quarter Final - PSG 2-1 Atalanta (single match)
Semi Final - PSG 3-0 RB Leipzig (single match)

Bayern Munich:

Group Stage:
Match 1 - Bayern Munich 3-0 Red Star Belgrade
Match 2 - Tottenham Hotspur 2-7 Bayern Munich
Match 3 - Olympiacos 2-3 Bayern Munich
Match 4 - Bayern Munich 2-0 Olympiacos
Match 5 - Red Star Belgrade 0-6 Bayern Munich
Match 6 - Bayern Munich 3-1 Tottenham Hotspur

Knockout Stage:
Round of 16 - Bayern Munich 7-1 Chelsea (over two legs)
Quarter Final - Bayern Munich 8-2 Barcelona (single match)
Semi Final - Bayern Munich 3-0 Lyon (single match)

This match will be taking place at the Estadio da Luz in Portugal on Sunday August 23 2020 with the kick off time being at 20:00 WEST. What are your predictions for this match? Will Bayern Munich add to their European trophy collection or will PSG make history by winning the trophy for the first time in its history?

A high scoring game goal for goal sort of like 4-4 all and we go into penalty shoot out which goes for hours. And to go down as the best epic final ever played.

So, this century, Spanish teams have won 9, English teams have won 4, German teams have won 3, Italian teams have won 3 and a Portuguese team won the other.

And thus, despite Cruyff teaching the Spanish how to play the modern game, no Dutch team has won for a quarter of a century - not since the young Patrick Kluivert snuck one just over the line for Ajax against Milan and Jari Litmanen (the greatest Finnish player who ever lived) ruled the roost.

I shouldn't have let myself get sucked into betting this would be a high-scoring final. Both teams scored so freely in getting there, but a final is always different.

Shakhtar Donetsk produces stunning Champions League upset to defeat 13-time winner Real Madrid

https://edition.cnn.com/2020/10/21/football/real-madrid-shakhtar-donetsk-champions-league-spt-intl/index.html

"First-half strikes from Tete and Manor Solomon either side of a Raphael Varane own goal gave the Ukrainian side a commanding lead, before Real pulled two back early in the second period through Luka Modric and Vinicius Junior.

Despite a sustained period of pressure late on from the Spanish champion, including a last-minute goal rightly disallowed by VAR for offside, Shakhtar held on for a famous win.

To make the result even more incredible, Shakhtar was without seven starting players -- and 10 in total -- due to a combination of positive coronavirus cases and injuries."

Who automatically qualifies for the CL in the next season? The winner? No one?

Thanks for the info, Jezza.

I was, of course, thinking about Liverpool when I asked. They are a long way from the top 4 in the EPL right now. They may need to win the CL title just to be there next year.
