^ Wouldn't get carried away.

Arsenal have improved under Arteta, but are nowhere near challenging the top sides yet.

And a new season is already upon us.

Man. City are clear favourites with the bookies.

Six Questions Looming Over the New Season in Europe

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/11/sports/soccer/premier-league-preview.html?action=click&module=Editors%20Picks&pgtype=Homepage

"This feels like the weekend that the 2020-21 season starts: the opening of the new Premier League and La Liga campaigns, with Serie A and the Bundesliga scheduled to return in a few days’ time. The reality, though, is different: Soccer never really went away."

Who out of all these do you reckon has even an outside chance?

Just Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man United? i.e. are we realistically down to four right from the get-go?

I think it's down to City, Liverpool and maybe Chelsea. United haven't invested enough in the summer to be contenders in my opinion.

Arsenal could be a legitimate top 4 contender. They're progressing well under Arteta.

J. Austin, Fox Sports, Aug 25:

"Yet, really, only one club has made any attempt to show their ambition to get back amongst the title picture next season: Chelsea.

After two transfer windows with no signings due to their transfer ban and just the hugely profitable exit of Eden Hazard to boost their coffers, the Blues have been on a rampage in signing the best talent Europe has to offer.

They surprised everyone with the signing of the highly-rated Hakim Ziyech from Ajax before coronavirus at a bargain £33.3m.

Timo Werner was then pinched from under the noses of Liverpool...

And now it looks like three more will be joining with playmaker Kai Havertz, one of the best young talents on the planet, Leicester and England left back Ben Chilwell and Champions League finalist captain Thiago Silva all set to join to take the Blues’ spending to £220m, with a replacement goalkeeper still likely to come.

Roman Abramovich has provided the cash to make a real statement and transfer chief Marina Granovskaia is brilliant at getting the deals quickly and quietly over the line without being held to ransom.

That’s a talent Manchester United’s double act of Ed Woodward and Matt Judge could do with as it has now approached a ‘now or never’ moment to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund."

I've been trying to work out the scheduling.

It looks like most of the Tues & Wed matches are in January and February.

What is the reason for that? (Other competitions then?)
