The leaders group from last season has remained the same six but with some differences

It’s now grown to seven with the addition of Darcy Moore

Congrats mate

Might be an unpopular opinion, but part of me was hoping we'd have a new captain.

Pendles is a legend and served us well as captain, but I wonder whether after seven years it would have been worth elevating someone such as Taylor Adams into the captaincy.

Therefore, Pendles could just focus solely on his footy.

If this was going to be the case, Pendles needs to own it and make that decision. The club would be extremely reluctant to initiate the change out of respect to a Collingwood legend.

^ Agree, Lazza.

I doubt the club would be brave enough to make a move without Pendles' input first.

Disappointed to see Sidey still in there post his behaviour last season. DM will take over the captaincy for mine, longer term prospect than Adam’s. can’t go wrong either way though.

Was never a big fan of the large leadership groups.

Happy for Pendles to keep going as Captain. He wants it and deserves to keep it.

However, I would have preferred to have less "vice-captains".

I would have gone:
C - Pendles
VC - Adams
VC - Howe

Brodie Grundy, Jordan Roughead and Darcy Moore are leaders in their positions, but I just prefer smaller leadership groups. I suppose one of them could be a deputy vice captain, having no more than 4 in the group.

Steele Sidebottom is an interesting one. I think we should have removed him after his drunken nudie run last year. That is not the way to lead by example.

Yeah I was surprised as well but really we shouldn’t have been
The club has been weak so many times taking real action when players get caught out doing the wrong thing
Sidey behaviour boarded on complete and utter betrayal of the clubs values and then he sold them a lemon promising to come back after the birth of his child only to pull out within hours of his due departure
Says a lot about his character and what he thinks of the club and his team mates as a whole
For mine Adams will be next captain and Grundy and Moore his deputies

Last year was a very strange year for a lot of reasons. A better measure of his character is that he will end 2021 top 10 all-time in games played for Collingwood.

Providing he plays games and isn’t suspended for another stupid off field act or is dropped because his form from tonight continues on into the season for too long

I’m not bagging him for staying home I’m bagging him because 3 hours before his scheduled departure he contacted coach and captain to speak to them about his training in the NT hub he was going too
No one at the club new he didn’t catch the plane until he didn’t show up in the NT
He failed to tell anyone of his change of mind for whatever reason
That is not only disrespectful to the club and leaders but shows his total disregard for his team mates by his actions
Staying home isn’t a issue the manner in which he choose to do so is the issue
It follows his drunken display early in the year
See a pattern forming do you ??
Or are you a apologist for poor behaviour ?
