Treloar 18 disposals. Wink

All of a sudden he’s hitting targets, not tearing both hamstrings as he’s pushed whilst kicking, able to kick over 40m and accurately at that.

If he performed at the level that he is now after the kick in the pants, we would never have got rid of him.

Maybe it says more about him and being complacent.

PPie, Stef Martin & Treloar could end up being this year's version of Jolly & Ball.

If it gets to that stage, at least Ads won't have the trauma of having to play against his old side. (Remember Ball's reaction post-GF '10?)

Oh yes, I remember K. I really felt for him.

Adz is having a day out with the Doggies today. Kicked a brilliant goal out of the centre. Working so hard to be available for his team mates, as well as going in and getting the ball himself.
He is part of a sublime mid-field which is helping him blossom back to his best. Great to see!!!

Gee his mental health issues are really cutting him up aren't they?

Treloar's form is a continual indictment against Clown Coach's integrity.

BTW we are 1-4 - How much longer can our coaching cadaver last?

Dunkley 38 disposals, 7 clearances, 8 tackles, 2 goals
Macrae 35, 7, 4, 0 goals but 3 goal assists
Bont 33, 5, 7, 3 goals and 800 metres gained
Dale 27 (but 22 kicks) and 666 metres gained

[daylight]

Treloar 26 (14 kicks), 4 tackles, 3 clearances, 2 goals and 2 goal assists. He also ranked equal 11th amongst Footscray players for score involvements. Hunter, Smith, Bont, Dale, Dunkley, Macrae and Scott all had more involvements.

Let's be very clear. At Footscray, he is the "icing" (such as it is), not the cake. He is in their top 8 mids, not a mainstay. He is simply not being asked to do the $900,000 a year gig.

He certainly stamped himself tonight against Richmond as the leading soft outside player of the competition. As soon as Richmond brought the pressure, he put on Harry Potter's invisibility cloak.

Why do you blame Treloar solely? He is not playing as an inside mid, he is playing for them on the outside. So when Richmond applied massive pressure, the Dogs' inside mids (Bont, Libba) wilted. Adz is an outside mid. In retrospect, if we had wanted an inside mid, we should never have recruited him. If instead, we had recruited in such a way that we could have had inside mids to complement him, then Adz could have played more to his potential. Your incessant desire to denigrate Treloar is quite distasteful.

I certainly agree we should never have recruited him.

'Treloar remains 4-6 weeks away from playing.

"It's going slower than what I hoped," Treloar told Fox Footy.'

^ They did. He makes Footscray a 4-goal worse team. The longer he's injured, the better they'll perform.

And in a huge blow to other finalists' chances of beating Footscray, it is likely that Potato Adam could be done for the year: https://www.afl.com.au/news/639776/injured-bulldog-adam-treloar-might-not-return-this-year

Great news for the rest of the competition - Treloar is back running and might play in the next month: https://www.westernbulldogs.com.au/news/978391/treloar-timeline-becomes-clear

I don't know whether anything said in that article is reliable, though. After all, it does start by referring to him as a "gun midfielder". Hopefully, at least some of the factual material in the article is better than that.

The takeaway: “At this stage, we remain optimistic that Adam will return to full training in the next two-to-three weeks and will return to playing shortly after.”

WB are 9-1 with AT, 3-3 without him.
