David it is a fact that Chinese culture clearly do not place a high value on the life of animals, and judging by the covid lies, people.

Trivialise it all you want, but for those dead puppies and kittens it is anything but.

Just another lovely Chinese medicine practice.

Thank god there are some good people trying to end it

Then why is this practice illegal? Presumably more than a few people care about the issue – and about animal welfare in general – for that to be the case.

Just ducked down to IGA to grab a lettuce, stunned at how many people were down the street.

Lilibet.

What an awful choice for a first name.

Hell, it wasn't even a name until just now.

Had to Google it, don't care, but I did find this embedded tweet in an article about this earth-shattering news amusing:

Some dogfood-for-brains morning-TV entertainment reporter wrote:
Can you just grab a nickname bestowed on someone & use it for your own purposes?

Replace "someone" with "your own grandmother" and, I dunno, not aware of there being a law against that guys, but definitely something that you need to pretend to be outraged about.

Isn't that how people from the subcontinent pronounce Elizabeth?

Ouch. Apparently it was how Queen Elizabeth pronounced her own name when she was really young, hence how it became her nickname.

I don't have a problem with that, at least the kid wasn't named Apple or Moon Unit or some normal name ruined with an illiterate Bogan spelling like Lee-Ah (leedashah).

Rich people are probably worse than the Bogans when it comes to crap kids names, at least the Rich people mostly can spell so they're doing it deliberately.

And there we all were thinking that Geppetto getting swallowed by the Terrible Dogfish was just fiction.

That's one serious full body blow job that the bloke would be really glad that spitting was involved rather than swallowing. Razz

What the actual F^{K?

Quote:
Magistrate Rodney Higgins, who created controversy in 2019 by embarking on a relationship with a court clerk 45 years his junior, has successfully claimed her $180,000 superannuation death benefit even though it was bequeathed to her struggling mother.

Mr Higgins, who earns $324,000 a year as a magistrate in Bendigo, made the successful claim on the death benefits of his late fiance Ashleigh Petrie after the fund, Rest Super, agreed with his argument that he was her de facto partner and therefore her “dependent”.

https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/magistrate-who-had-relationship-with-young-court-clerk-wins-her-super-benefit-20210616-p581hg.html

The old campaigner has gone back to his wife, who he left to go with the young clerk. More fkn front than Myer.

How the **** does a 23-year-old earn $180,000 in superannuation? I’m clearly with the wrong fund…

Part of the payment would have been a Death benefit/insurance component.

And public sector super can be much better than private.
Depending on the scheme, employer contributions a higher than 9.5%.

Anyway it is pretty low of Higgins to go after the super when it was bequeathed to Petries mother.
