The Richmond legend?
Speaking of this thread, Adam Kingsley should be in the poll. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

I've warmed up to the idea of Mark Williams. But who could his assistants be? Could they include others listed above? _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

I'm sure I'd prefer Beveridge or Longmire to Clarkson.

What are Beveridge's and Longmire's contract statuses? |

I'm not necessarily saying this is the right/or wrong approach, just an observation. In the corporate world you always hire a McKinsey or some other restructuring "expert" to come in and do the to cutting, because the board and shareholders will never question that its the right thing to do...

I completely agree. Adelaide were amazing that season but just didn’t quite have enough. Then that camp that killed them. _________________ The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after. |

Pyke did a great job in the first two seasons.
I think he’ll have deep regrets about the camp. He’s not my #1 candidate but he’s a better option than Lyon. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

Yep, Hardwick lost arguably one of the best AFL defenders ever and won a GF.
Yep, they were both lucky to lose those players otherwise they wouldn't have won those GF's |
Many here would dispute "one of the best AFL defenders ever"... But anyway, he was replaced by Tom Lynch. Fab Four still Fab Four. Now I'd say it's more Dusty than the other three.
For sure, no Dusty no flag. Choco is the coach who can claim most credit for Dusty.
The game plan was Caracella's...
But more important than all that was the conditioning and zero injuries. Look at their record this year, when they've had a few injuries (but not worse than the other top-8 teams)... The game plan only works if you have the conditioning and no injuries.
And the AFL is in an era of mediocrity. ... <snip>
... Looks like you give the conditioning and rehab guy zero credit. If the injury profiles of Richmond and GWS were swapped 2017-20, with everything else the same, GWS would have 3 flags and Richmond 0. |
Champion Data put out injury data for Rounds 1-14 this year. For total games missed through injury across the whole playing list, guess who comes last (i.e. is best with injuries)?
If you guessed Richmond, give yourself a prize. |

Geez I hope its not Pyke... Might have Adelaide flying for a season or two, but who has to carry the can for 'the Camp'? Surely its the head coach..?? And the way he left Adelaide sort of unceremoniously, without really owning up to the shambles all throughout 2018 was very poor. I dont know how much of that was the broader administration but I am really anxious about him getting the top job at our club. I honestly cant believe how many people are singing his praises. Buckley was closer to a flag that he got (they really choked in that GF) and we're all crediting him for the "amazing" turnaround at Sydney this year...
On a seperate note, reading the gossip section of the HS today (so take it as a grain of salt) and they are narrowing the top job down to Choco, Sam Mitchell and Vossy. I would be happy with any (or a combination) of those guys. _________________ It's never as good/nor bad as it seems... |

Lyon still odds on at $1.80
Mitchell the market mover, in to $6
Pyke $26. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |
