Geez, I'll be 65. Hopefully the flu viruses will have a properly tested vaccine by then and we'll be able to have international visitors.

Third time an Australian city hosts the Summer Olympics after Melbourne (1956) and Sydney (2000).

Apart from Melbourne and Sydney always thought it was Perth that was the next australian city to host an Olympics together with both Melbourne and Sydney hosting another games.
Brisbane was the least choice i had adelaide and hobart before brisbane.

The marathon ran past our house in Perth and suddenly Mum who had two toddlers to look after had 10 houseguests and 20 other relatives lob for the day, They drank all Dads beer and scotch and Mum spent all day making cups of tea and scones etc. I was nearly 3 so I was there but don't remember it.

My niece lives in a 4 bed 3 bathroom house halfway between the Brisbane airport and the Brisbane entertainment centre which will surely host some indoor events. Gymnastics or Weightlifting eg. I told her to spruce it a few months before the games and put it on Air BnB. Her kids will be old enough to stay somewhere else . I said used the money to catch a cheap flight out as the planes will be empty and do a 4 week tour of Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia and Malaysia. The rent will cover flight and room for her and her husband and she could buy enough clothes here at a fraction of the cost and the games will be on tv with commentators who are english speakers.
