Lucky they got to use 12 batsmen or else they might have finished 315 behind.

Stumps. 1/29. Australia leads by just 344. Smith didn't manage to make any runs at all, today. I'd say that's the end of him.

Fun fact - it will be 7 years next Saturday since the West Indies last dismissed Smith in a Test.

Very Happy

Cummins has a side strain (details as they emerge) and will not take the field.

Smith will captain, when play resumes.

Australia declared on 2/182.

Labu 104* (110), Smith 20*.

Windies need 498 to win.

"Marnus Labuschagne has become just the third Australia men's player to score a double-century and a hundred in the same Test after once again putting the West Indies to the sword.

Two days after he posted 204 in Australia's first innings of the opening Test at Perth Stadium – the second double century of his career to date – Labuschagne reached another ton shortly before lunch on day four as Australia chased quick runs.

The only others to have achieved the rare milestone in the Baggy Green Cap are Doug Walters who posted 242 and 103 against the West Indies at SCG in 1968-69, and former skipper Greg Chappell whose 247 and 143 came against New Zealand at Wellington in 1974."

CA.

Shamefully flat pitch.

The ICC need to get some former bowlers in their ranks. Guys like Holding, Geoff Lawson, ... These flat pitches will destroy the game.

But good on Oz's best batsman, Marnus Labuschagne...
Marny shoulda scored a 300 in the 1st innings. 200 was wasteful. Reminded me of Slats condemning him for scoring only 100 on a shamefully flat Brissy pitch.

Slats: "Where is the hunger?"

Yup, don't need great skill, etc. on these pitches. Just hunger.

0/109. Brathwaite 57*, Chanderpaul 42*.

Quite eerie, watching Chanders Jnr. batting. That same crablike stance and movement, when batting. Very Happy

7/234. Lyon has 2, Head has 1 and Hazlewood 1 today.

SPD Smith has brought down an early contender for Mark of the Year, with a brilliant diving catch behind Carey to support Head's bowling. New ball taken a few overs back and Hazlewood has made good use of it. Cummins is on the field but hasn't bowled.
