Wondering if Nicks should get in early on player sponsorship for 2023?

I think Corey Durdin would be a great one. In the dying moments of the 4th quarter yesterday, match in the balance, Durdin ignored Fischers lead inside 50, then shat the bed and kicked to Howe one out in the pocket...we should acknoweldge this great sacrifice.

Ha ha ha gold! I'll pay it just to see their faces when they realise their error Razz

Can we ask them how much it would cost to throw in a single point as well? Just one? Wink

In years gone by, Nicks 'MargOz' was the impetus behind the annual NBB Player Sponsorship ~ refer the Bulletin Board thread.

The 2022 seasons Player Sponsorship had a standard cost of $2,495, whereby a sponsor could choose ANY player.
NB I'm yet to confirm if this format will be rolled into the 2023 season.

So, prior to any consideration for Nicksters to get behind a player, the most pressing decision is to start a poll, in order to gauge interest and if we have sufficient numbers to commit.

All going well, we can find 50 Nicksters willing to contribute. (I'd envisage a raffle of the Sponsorship prizes to those participants, but I'll save that detail for a later update)

It'd be great to get behind a player for season 2023 so as Donny would say, "Let's hear ya !!"

(at this stage, votes only please)

2023 MAGPIE ARMY package $3,795

• An exclusive invite for you and a guest to watch the team run out pre-match before
one game
• Tickets for you and 3 guests to attend the President’s Function at a home game
• Access for you and a guest to attand the Carlton Draught Lounge at two home games
• Mingle with your player at our exclusive Meet and Greet event
• Player Sponsor gift
• Collingwood x Nike Merchandise pack
• A 2023 official team signed guernsey
• 2 x general admission memberships
• 10% discount on other Collingwood Corporate Hospitality
• Access to purchase 2 x Finals tickets for Weeks 1 - 3 should Collingwood make it
• Have your name or business name recognized as a player sponsor on Collingwood’s official AFL website

If we were to go ahead and sponsor a player, the package benefits would make good raffle prizes. We'd need a minimum $50 a ticket though. Still better odds than Tatts or getting the Melbourne Cup trifecta.

Didn't get the requisite number. FWIW, I would have pushed for Arlo Draper.

One last post on this to gauge if there's sufficient interest to sponsor a player.
(at this stage there isn't, although I still would like Nicks' to do a Trojan Horse on Princess Park and sponsor Carlton's Corey Durdin ($1,990 to sponsor a Carlton senior player) following that Round 23 last quarter kick to find Jeremy Howe)

extension://elhekieabhbkpmcefcoobjddigjcaadp/https://resources.collingwoodfc.com.au/aflc-coll/document/2023/02/07/e21a13f2-0781-4b59-bbdd-289f75987f69/2023-AFL-PLAYER-SPONSORSHIP-PACKAGES.pdf

It'll cost $3,795, and the package inclusions I'd expect to raffle out to those contributors. We'd really need $75 from 50 Nicksters to make it work.

So, once more unto the breach, before the matter is finalised one way or another.

For those that haven't voted, please vote accordingly.

Each to their own but while ever the AFL gives us the minimum allowance I won’t be contributing my own hard earned. We’re obviously too rich for our own good.

We got 12? Shocked

Gee, that really surprises me. I thought we'd get at least 100.... $50 a ticket.
As well as the club items ($3795) there'd be some cash prizes.

^not sure where the resistance is, the raffle alone would be worthwhile entering for the range of prizes.
Maybe as the season nears there .ight be some renewed interest.
