...but they just don't get it.

ST KILDA will reconstruct its forward line gambling on former Cat Ryan Gamble being part of a new look forward set up that it hopes will bridge the gap of three grand finals in two years to make the leap to a premiership.

The Saints last night pulled the surprise of the national draft when they punted on two recycled players in Gamble and former Richmond utility Dean Polo.

Gamble and Polo (ROTFLMAO). More like they have rocks in their head. Laughing

They need a complete rebuild. Their kids aren't good enough.

Ah, St Kilda - the gift that keeps on giving.
Very Happy

You're not wrong.

If Richmond didn't want to hold on to Polo then I don't know why anyone else would want him: a reject player goes from one reject team to another reject team.

Last year the Saints picked up Adam Pattison from Richmond and he didn't play a single game for them.

Ryan Gamble played 31 senior matches in 5 seasons, even if it was at Geelong it's not a great record, there's gotta be a reason for his lack of game time.

saints think there window is still open. If they don't win it next year could be a slow rebuild.

This reminds me of us in 2002/2003 a good top dozen or so but not so good bottom dozen. They have a cr@p bottom dozen and they only promoted 1 rookie. Can see them falling away maybe not quite the Collingwood crash of 2004, but a tumble.

i'm becoming more unimpressed with lyon and the saints all the time. polo ? you're kidding. lyon may end up being one of those coaches that gets the arse and leaves a mess of a list that takes 5-10 years to recover from. where's their development of young players ? roos did the recycling thing well and lyon is trying it and failing miserably.

You need some young super talented kids to win a flag. Not a bunch of has beens. I'm happy they are going down this path again.

A Geebung reject is gunna bridge the gap?
LOL ZZZZ!
Reconstruct Milne and Nick R-Cryalot (Riewadlt)?
Remove sobby's tear-ducts, give him a rear-vision mirror! And Milne? Delist the waanker! Forward-line sorted!
I'm still marvelling at last years "boom recruit", Brett Peak!
Ha Ha kerplonk!
What they really need is not a reconstruction, it's a back-bone!
That goes for Sir Nick Cryalot as well.

wtf does lyon think he is getting at with this sort of comment??

Quote:

Asked how Polo would get a game for the Saints when he wasn't able to break into the Richmond line-up, Lyon said: "That's a simple analysis but you need to scratch a little deeper."

"You can see with (Collingwood's Brent) Macaffer and those types that if you get players that can play to your game plan, which I think Polo can, you can really grow."

Errr ... Mr Lyon, Sir? Ummm ... I don't really want to be the one that has to say this, but .. er ... well, it's like this .... Brent Macaffer is a very disciplined young footballer with a huge talent who forced his way into a premership team, displacing genuine stars like Paul Medhurst to do it, while your boy is a proven dud who couldn't get a game with one of the wooden spoon contenders.

That Lyon is one massive failure, did not want Wellingham or Goldsack for Ball and got jack sh!t in return, with Peake and Pattison as the cream on top!

Drop Eddie? Him and Goddard are the only players on the list with heart.

Polo better than Eddie? Think not.

Gamble has more chance of playing.

Saints will Rookie Eddie... Surprised Laughing
