We need a centre half back. Probably not against Carlton, I suppose - but it'd be good to have one, all the same. |

We will have Reid back. But keep maintaining the rage. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |

I love Reid but he has been playing like he's done.
By the way, I'm not maintaining any rage, just expressing an opinion. If other people disagree (and, eg, like to see our CHB doing an impersonation of a witch's hat), it's fine to say so. |

Assuming Moore and Elliott will need to come back via the VFL, the only question really is whether Reid or Appleby should be recalled.
I'd actually prefer to stick with Mihocek for another week or so, as he provides some much needed physicality up forward. I guess Appleby is competing with Greenwood for a spot, and I suspect Appleby may just get a recall.
Finally, do we persevere with Daicos, or look to bring back Brown or perhaps even debut Murphy?
Other than these selection queries I think the rest of our team is very settled. |

^ i’d Keep Daicos assuming he is playing the role requested of him. He is learning and he needs to get more of the ball, but at times he shows serious silk, with evasion and foot skills (wonder where he got those from?).
We have made some investment in him the last few weeks, and I think we should double down on it. Brown or Murphy can come in for Wells, until Jamie E is fit. And if Jamie E can get fit, as he did late last year, how terrifying a proposition does that forward line become for an opposition ? _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

I don't think anyone from the VFL looked like they deserved to be elevated.
No change except for likely injury to Wells. _________________ Well done boys! |

The very fact there is so much debate about who comes in after a very good win is great consolation. The break comes at a very good time- several players could do with a spell and others, like Wells, can use the time to get miles in the legs.
The Daicos project is bubbling away nicely; Stephenson and Hoskin-Elliott have been stellar; Mihocek brings a new dimension up forward, as does Cox and Mayne has been a credit to his persistence to make an impact.
I would love to see Sier and McLarty get a shot at it soon- the conundrum is, who goes out??
And for what its worth, today was a coaching triumph for Buckley- his isolation of Jetta deep in our forward 50 made the Melbourne player very nervous.. _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |

Daics will get better as he feels more comfortable in the seniors.
His shank from 50 was unlike him (he can kick those), his left peg is seriously good, and that moment of last quarter silk when he twisted and turned in the centre then spot up a target on his left. More of that will come.
Unchanged for Carlton. _________________ Est. 2002 |

Sounds about right RH.
Got to feel for Appleby - the kid did everything right, but now finds himself squeezed out by Greenwood. But he's a rookie, so he'll get his chances again down the track. |

I know the bye is now due, but.... if any players feel the need for an extra week/s rest due to any niggling soft-tissue injury, now is the time to put their hands up.
This may be our last consecutive games against bonafide bottom 4 teams, so the time is approaching for genuine list management.
We have plenty of form players in the VFL capable of filling most roles.
It's a great problem to have, unlike previous years crippled by injuries at the corresponding stage of the season.
I suggest doing this now, because the likelihood of players volunteering for a rest later in the season rapidly diminishes the closer we get to September.
Oh FMD; I said the "S" word; dare I say the "F" word too?!
Ah bugger it; play 'em all instead, and let's try to get Bolton sacked. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

If Moore is fit to play I think he comes straight back in. One week in the VFL at most. We're all starting to see that we are not as far away from competing for a flag as some thought. There are two players that can make a major improvement to our team and that's Elliott and Moore.
The quicker we get either in to the team to start building form the better. Moore especially, as taller players will take more time. _________________ Well done boys! |
