Just been announced by the Club he's got two years to get it together! |
Maybe the 2 years was to give him some trade value at the end of next year if he doesn’t? _________________ https://forever.collingwoodfc.com.au/sav-sinks-the-dockers/ |

Im a believer in Sier.
Am hoping that he comes backing tip-top shape and makes an indelible mark in 2020. _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |

I'm not such a believer in Sier. But then I'm a lousy judge of young footballers. I never thought De Goey would amount to much either. _________________ Side by side. |

How about what the members and supporters have to endure....

i'm with you. Can he solve the tank issue (and apparently a commitment issue)! this is the only question preventing him from blossoming into a star in the same way Maynard and DeGoey have. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

I get the feeling 2020 is make or break in general for the club. Collingwood has "backed in" a lot who struggled this year a d were 50/50 at best ... (Sier, Wills,Reid, Broomhead, Varcoe et.al I would add Thomas as I am just not sold on him.)
IF 2020 does not pan out as we all hope it will....and the club has a sniff that maybe Clarkson is gettable ...watch out ..I think we could see a huge list and coaching revamp....just feels like the club and coach have willingly pushed all the chips in for next year...back in this list and coach and trust that bodies and talents click. _________________ "To know nothing of events before your birth, is to forever remain a child" - Cicero (Roman Lawyer/Senator) 46 BCE. |

Lol the club is 'backing in' its list management strategy of short terming some of those players you intimated were struggling so that there is flexibility within the cap for our marquee players. |

Sums up the difference in work rate between us and the top teams.
We are not far behind, but it’s just a few of those brain fade and lazy moments that have been most costly.
This article perfectly points out the reasons why guys like Mayne are key players within the team with their football IQ and work ethic.
Sier is a “nearly but not quite there” type of player. The ball is in his court whether he wants to be better. _________________ - Side By Side - |

I don’t think Sier will read all that. He’ll get to through the first paragraph then go play basketball. |

Agreed. Hopefully it is the kick up the backside he needs. Also shows how Pendles directs traffic on the ground, which we rarely notice. |

Like everyone, I was agonizingly aware of the Checkers and Brown errors, but didn't notice the Sier one. Maybe he was out of gas by then - it's obvious he is still not able to run out four quarters. However, at least some sort of semblance of effort should've been made.
Yep, with the tv cameras focused on the play, viewers rarely notice what is going on at other parts of the ground. Good that a journalist noticed Pendle's strenuous efforts to give on field leadership. Pendles must have been furious at getting no response from Sier.
In the replay of the last few minutes of the game, I was especially interested in how the Lions player was able to mark virtually front and centre of the goals in the dying seconds. ALL our defenders were bodied up on their forwards, except one. Poor Noble had lost touch with his man in the traffic and was metres away from him when he marked it. Noble had played his heart out and provided good service, but that one lapse would've haunted him after the game. |
