No loyalty on this site. Get behind our boys against North and cheer us on to glorious victory. If we don't beat North I will rip my 2013 membership card up. _________________ I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for. |

Surely we rest our 3 most important players in Pendles, Swan and Reid? |

Not at Simonds they wont, wonder if Freos decision to rest 11 players cost them in the end? Maybe Dimi went if you wont respect the game we will send you to Geelong instead of Etihad where they would have been favourites |

Really? You will honestly refuse to attend anymore Collingwood home games for 2013? Gosh! _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Hmmm. Glorious victory for Collingwood or be rid of Hiss.

I don't get it. Coaches, players, experts talk up the beneifit of the week's rest in finals. We will get no option cos we finished outside the top 4. We play a dead rubber vs North. So why the hell wouldn't we treat this week as our rest week and do a Fre. Hmm, freshen up the team for Port, or risk Reid and Pendles. Makes no sense. Momentum, dress rehearsal...a load of rubbish. Rest our stars FFS! _________________ Est. 2002 |

So, it turns out to be a dead rubber (need to win by over 100 pts to move to 5th), pretty happy with that. Look like we're interested for the 1st half then back it right off. Perfect! _________________ Formally frankiboy and FrankieGoesToCollingwood. |

I just did some maths and realised that even if we win by 100 points (150-50), our percentage won't exceed Richmond's.
On top of this factor, I think Carlton would be a more dangerous prospect than Port at the MCG anyway. We'd get to play Port on a Saturday night, which will be a better prospect for the following week.
I think we should rest anyone that needs a rest also. |

How many late changes? 5? Dead rubber, not worth risking anyone. |

It's not going to happen, winning by 20 goals, but it'd be worth it. 5th would have been a massive advantage:
5th pathway to grand final: Carlton, Sydney, Geelong/Freo (with a good chance that Geelong could meet Hawthorn in the prelim and take care of them).
6th pathway to grand final: Port, Geelong/Fremantle, Hawthorn
Fingers crossed that Sydney upset Hawthorn in Week 1 now. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Yep. If we're good enough, or at least believe we are, then the major barrier to us going all the way is to not have a week off. So, why not do a Freo and manufacture one?
I'm sure we'll at least go heavy on the rotations and light on the pressure, but we should also be resting a few stars, maybe even bring in players who were not listed as emergencies. If there are no late changes, I'll be disappointed. After this game we'll be having consecutive 6 day breaks, so we need to rest up as much as possible. _________________ Well done boys! |
