What was the point of bringing Appleby in for one game.
He stunk last week, and was part of the reason, the Giants could score so easily.
Schazza should have played last week _________________ Social club member 7342 since 2000. |

So, the logic flowing from your comment is that we should leave Appleby in ??
Not much point in this comment. Appleby's game last week is over and done with. And he is not the reason we were scored against so easily last week. It was a result of our insipid midfield pressure, or rather absence of any, _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

What we especially need now is for Cox, Mihocek and WHE to all fire together. If that happens, we win.
I like the team, and reckon we are only missing Moore, Greenwood, Aish and (a fit and desperate) Sier from our likely best possible finals line-up. |
What about Stephenson?
Anyway, I don't think your initial premise is correct. WHE, Mihocek and Cox can only fire if the midfield fires. Without that happening, they are pretty much next to helpless.
Omitting Sier and then not replacing him with another big midfield surely weakens the potential of our midfield to get on top of theirs. |
You're right. I forgot about Stephenson. As for Sier, he has not been omitted, but is out injured. Of course the forward line can only fire if they get good delivery, but last week we had over 60 inside 50s for very little effect. Cox is the key. He has to either mark or bring the ball to ground. I'd play Varcoe as a permanent crumbing forward. Still, Checkers and WHE need a big game for us to win tomorrow night. I reckon they'll fire up. Pies by 18 points. |

Unfortunately, we have recently become very good at accumulating I50's but not scoring from any of them. This is because the mids are under so much pressure when they get the ball that it is not delivered effectively, or we just bombed it in, in hope. The quality of the I50's is just as important, perhaps more so, than the quantity. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

Unfortunately, this reminds me of the dim, and , for what appeared until recently to be distant, past (2 or 3 years ago) where every week our selection panel regularly baffled us with bizarre choices. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

Yeah, I remember those times MTTM!
Maybe they've stacked us with smalls forward of centre because it's going to be wet??? |

JT has had a hip problem. He was dropped and played VFL and then missed last week. I find it a little odd that he has been recalled, but there it is. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Because Corey Gault is not 7 feet tall, and therefore would not have the same chance of making a massive difference. And because Cox has shown in the past he can make a massive difference.
In the WC game he was very good. If he can even play as well as that tomorrow night, that would be massive. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

Yep, shows that winning contested footy is no good if you turn it over on the outside, giving the opposition an even greater advantage in making better use of the ball on the counter-attack _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing |

Maybe that explains our bizarre selection.
If it rains, then we are loaded with small forwards; if it doesn't rain, we have Cox to play another Preliminary Final _________________ Free Julian Assange!!
