I am totally against gay marriage, but I consider it imperative that equal rights regarding property, superannuation and organ donation be granted immediately.
I am vehemently opposed to same sex couples having adoption rights. That is a personal thing. I would prefer all children to be brought up with a male and female role model.
Having said that,I must also point out,all studies so far indicate that children brought up by same sex couples tend to be better than mid range scholastically and generally better at social interaction.
None of the studies indicate a detrimental effect on the children.

Dealing with Centrelink same sex couples are NOT recognized as a couple.

so a gay couple who live together and are both unemployed get full benefits from centrelink! so thats how some can afford their little party pills?

also, i doubt the majority of gay couple's really care about legal marrige, and as i have said before, at least they save money on the reception... more to spend in bali.

Canberra, you write, "I am vehemently opposed to same sex couples having adoption rights. That is a personal thing. I would prefer all children to be brought up with a male and female role model."

That seems to be at odds with what you went on to say:

"Having said that,I must also point out,all studies so far indicate that children brought up by same sex couples tend to be better than mid range scholastically and generally better at social interaction.
None of the studies indicate a detrimental effect on the children."

Just interested, mate. Very Happy

I voted for the first option.

Re. Same sex parenting: There may be some validity in opposing views if same sex parents were obviously 'bad influences' for children. Being heterosexual parents (or Christian parents, Nuxta) certainly does NOT guarantee children a perfect/balanced/healthy upbringing.

One thing I'm not sure about Nuxta and Birdy is why does God have a problem with homosexuality?

It does seem like the gays just want marriage because they can't have it.

I think because it's harmful to the people who participate in it. Thats what all God's laws are for, they are good for us. Most homosexuals seem to define themselves by their sexuality with it becoming a central focus in their lives, rather than God, and that is spiritually damaging. The Bible says it's a sin, no worse than any other sin, but the problem exists through unrepentance.
