Just saw a replay of the Duckwood incident on Seven. I'll tell you what, Duckwood is the biggest cheating wimp the game has ever seen.

1. He hits the Brions player with a limp wrist.

2. Brions player retaliates with an open hand to the chest, with not even enough force to blow out a candle.

3. Duckwood falls over as if he's been hit by a Daniel Geale haymaker. Rolling Eyes

Honestly, he might be a good player, but his reputation is finished. He will always be remembered as a squealer and a cheat. Evil or Very Mad

The bloke who hit him will get 5-6 even though there appeared to be no force but Duckwood lying on the ground as if he had been hit by Barry Hall will condemn the poor bastard

Selwood will 1, maybe 2.

If he was wearing black & white it'd be 16 weeks.

Won't get more than one, we shouldn't be relying on suspensions if we're serious this year.

1/10 thread

Selwood hit Raines with a fairy tap, and Raines returned the favour with a similar hit. Selwood took a dive as he always does, so it makes the Raines hit look worse.

I'm guessing the MRP will fall for it, so Selwood will receive a free gimp whilst Raines will miss upto a month.

Based on the thread so far it seems no one has picked up that the Lions player actually slapped - not punched - Duckwood!! I thought it was hilarious when I saw it on game day.

Reckon Duckwood's will come back as 'below the force required to be reportable' or whatever joke phrase the afl use in those circumstances.

Is an open hand reportable?? Pretty sure I can recall previous cases where once its deemed to be an open hand they're let off but my memory might be failing me!

Perhaps the Cats are using suspension to rotate and rest their players.

No way Raines should get more than Sellwod.

Sellwood punched Raines, albeit not hard, with no provocation.

Raines reacted instinctively and bitch slapped him. Not hard either. Sellwood is either a total actor, soft as butter or has had too many hits to the head already.

Duckwood cleared but that's just the start....

Pendles will be suspended for thinking that Duckwood should get at least 2 weeks for striking but must accept 3 weeks with an early plea making him miss the GF rematch.

Ablett and Swan will treat that it is a disgrace. Swan will be suspended for 16 weeks for bringing the game in disrepute and Ablett will be awarded the Brownlow and personally congratulated by Dimmy for bringing success to the Gold Coast.

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/afl/more-news/geelong-captain-joel-selwood-to-face-scrutiny-over-stike-on-brisbanes-andrew-raines/story-e6frf9jf-1226341992083

Quote:
He was suspended for four matches for striking Hawthorn's Brent Guerra in Round 12 last year. The Cats challenged the ban at the tribunal and lost which meant the suspension stayed at four matches and he then carried a 40 per cent loading and 25 carry-over points for the next 12 months.

This will come back to haunt Selwood today with 75 points being added to the 125 he is likely to be allocated for a level two striking offence. That means, with an early guilty plea which takes 50 points off, he will only miss Saturday's clash with Melbourne at Simonds Stadium.

Selwood was concussed after being decked by Raines but Geelong football manager Neil Balme confirmed yesterday he had suffered no lasting problems.

So Selwood 'pushed' him in the face???
And Raines gave Selwood concussion???

Gee the media is doing their best to protect him too haha

Selwood no doubt has proven time and again that he's willing to win the hard ball yet continues to annoy the shite out of all opposition supporters with his willingness to drop the head and play for a free.

He's a strange mix.
