I think we should name players like Paine, Oxley, Broomhead, Martin in the extended squad and bring them in if the scum lose to Port and Richmond defeat Essendon.

Why waste energy on a North Melbourne side desperate to make finals when our place is assured.

Probably right, but I'm thinking it might have been their Prelim final.

We don't have to win but whoever goes out there with a black and white striped jumper on needs to give their all. Play ten teenagers by all means but letting anyone coast is asking for trouble

Should win this game very comfortably, North are very overrated and are Etihad speciallists, unfortunately for them this is at the MCG and they haven't won here this year and they wont win a game this year at the MCG

We're gearing up for finals so we have to treat this game as a dress rehearsal. Intensity is not something that you can just switch off and on; it's a mindset and we have to bring it to bear every game from here on in. Our midfield holds the key to our possibilities in September. It has the potential to devastate any team in the competition. We need to test out this week a Jolly/Grundy combination. This might be the key to defeating Hawthorn. If Grundy can play a role like Lynch and support Jolly in the ruck, then we might be able to control the ruck contests to the advantage of our midfield. Hawthorn's tactic of switching Hale to the forward line might not be so attractive to them if their second ruck has to confront Jolly at the centre. Even though Lynch played well against the Eagles, I think we urgently need to test out Jolly and Grundy together in combination before the finals and drop Lynch to make way for Jolly.

Actually with us playing VFL finals expect us to field the strongest reserve side possible.

Only players with genuine niggles/injury concerns surrounding them will be rested from the senior side this week in order to keep the VFL squad strong.

Stick it right up 'em!

Don't see any reason to change that bar a little fiddling at the edges. J Thomas might want a rest; D Thomas is still injured; are there two blokes in the current senior team that could use a bit of extra match practice?

Should be the side. Pendles for one, definitely could do with a rest.

Must win.

Going into September on a winning note would help us mentally.

it's at the MCG, so we must treat it as a dress rehearsal for the finals. We need our A team and our A game. The only qualification I'd say to that, is perhaps we could experiment with the Jolly/Grundy combination, to see how it works. However, I really think it's too late for that.

while I think there is no way we would drop huge amounts of players this week I think anyone with a niggle or injury they are carrying isn't going to play sunday and I have no issue with that.

Our position cannot change so play the VFL side.

Dont play pendles, swan, cloke and Reid.

We'll finish 6th regardless... Cant get 5th. Doubt Tigers will lose to Dons once their season is finished tomorrow.

Or they may want to make a statement...
