I'm guessing that the club will hold back Karnezis for a couple more weeks to build his fitness, but after another insipid performance from our senior forwards, we can't wait that long. After kicking 6 goals in the VFL, it's time to promote Karnezis. He may as well get fit playing in the seniors. He will provide a better marking and leading forward option than Witts, so I'd drop the big fella and let him develop more in the VFL. This will require White to do more ruckwork, and since he's not getting much of it up forward this might be a good move to keep him in the game.

I've already been saying I think Ball is just about past it. He is way too slow and has poor disposal skills. It's now time for him to pass the baton on to Adams who will be our number one hard in and under midfielder for the next 8 years.

My advice to Clinton Young is to play a very good game this week as he must be close to getting dropped. Sure, he's a long kick, but he's simply not a good enough all round footballer for mine.

Assuming Brown and Frost are unavailable:

Outs: Brown, Frost, Ball, Witts

Ins: Adams, Thomas, Karnezis, Keeffe

I'm looking forward to watching Luke Ball win the Ross Lyon medal again this week.

Also, I think we should take up the notion that anyone with disposal efficiency as bad as Sidebottom's should go. His was 69%, so that means that this week out he goes, along with Beams, Fasolo, Grundy, Young, Elliott, Toovey, Macaffer, White and Cloke (and, if he wasn't playing to annoy the opposition supporters, Luke Ball). The improved disposal efficiency from replacing all those ball-butchers should guarantee a victory. Of course, Sidebottom is an outside player, so there won't be any problem covering his 15 contested possessions.

^ I see what you're doing there. Nice. Some people are quick to be critical of what a player can't do (or at least their perception of it), but fail to aknowelage what they actually do well.

Sidebottom would be nearly running top 5 in the Copeland at the moment.

Might be a good opportunity to give Grundy a spell as Buckley said he will get a rest at some stage. The saints haven't got a lot to offer in the ruck department. Drop Cloke and bring in Karnesis see if he can find some form in the vfl side. How long before they will put Brown on to the long term injury list and bring in Martin?

While it's unlikely Cloke will be dropped, the VFL has a bye this weekend so absolutely no benefit gained.

And I can't see Martin getting promoted (if Brown goes to the LTI) unless they intend to play him.

And, as to axl13's other question, no doubt the decision to put Browny on the LTI (or not) will be made right after the surgeon gives his prognosis.

Agree with Brown, and possibly Frost if he is not fit.

However I think they wont drop Young. He is extremely frustrating but his run, carry and long kicks in the last quarter helped a lot. That will save his spot.

When, specifically, will they?

Seems Blair might be suspended for throwing a punch.

That might open up a spot for Karnezis or Adams.

^if he does it will be a joke. Stevie J and Hodge were doing similar things to each other not long ago and Stevie J does it most weeks. Reprimand at worst. But hey, he's wearing black and white stripes.
Trav will find form and confidence this week.

Mentioned how frustrating Young is in another thread but overall that's 2x shockers, think he needs to find some form. Don't think we lose the run and carry and think we end up with a better ball user by having either Seedsman (if fit) or Broomhead in the side. Difficulty is that VFL has a bye this weekend.

Yeah I don't see more than two changes at the very most. The bye in the VFL and Seedman not quite being 100% fit might give Young another chance in the seniors. Keefe for Brown and (if suspended) maybe Adams/Thomas for Blair.

Unless Adams is suspended, of course.

Surely based purely on form, you would drop Young ahead of Ball or Witts RB?
