Melbourne putting in a big effort up north.
Leading PA 64-60, coming up to three quarter time.
Would you believe they have 70 more disposals than Port. _________________ Donny.

It's a long season so I wouldn't be rushing back Swan and Ball perhaps even Grundy for that matter given the importance of his role going forward.
Out:Maxwell(inj), Sidebottom (susp), Blair
In:Broomhead, Dwyer, Kennedy _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Depends. Were Swan or Grundy actually injured? I reckon they were only rested.
If they're fine to go I think we need to play them. Melbourne are going well at the moment, we should be playing our best available. On last night's performance, that isn't likely to include Adams, especially up against Nathan Jones. Hopefully Ball is ready to go. _________________ Well done boys! |

Good result for us in the Alice.
Melbourne pushed PA all the way, in the heat, leading in the last quarter but going down by 20 points. _________________ Donny.

Demons & Dogs will give a much harder contest than the Saints did. We need to be committed & ready for a fierce contest. |

Hope the boys don't take Melbourne for granted. Still aren't a flash team, but they have become a hell of a lot more competitive under Roos. |

The question is: are we more likely to take Melbourne lightly if we go in with a full lineup, or with some younger players who are desperate for the opportunity?
I think the former. An Adams, Thomas, Kennedy or Dwyer won't be taking any game they get lightly. Still, we need to be confident that they are up to the task and that we can play well enough as a team with a less familiar lineup. _________________ Well done boys! |

Ins: Grundy, Swan, Kennedy
I know many people want Adams dropped to make way for Ball. This would be retrograde imo. Adams played OK last night, and will only get better as his confidence grows with senior games under his belt. FWIW, I thought he played a better game than Blair, Toovey or Goldsack.

The Dee's have improved out of sight, which just shows what a good coach can do with a struggling club ditto Port with Hinkley.
Hopefully Swan and Ball were just rested and are right to go next week as we'll need Ball's grunt (I was disappointed with Adams game last night, he did actually get some nice touches but again his disposal let him down) and Swannys run and class now Steele will be having a holiday.
It should be a good tough contest and hopefully we come in 100% focused which I think we will. Melbourne have been solid all year except for the West Coast game and the club will be well aware of that. |

Might need to allow for White to miss with an apparent broken finger as well. That might change your thinking.... |

Melbourne's Grand Final and the Umpires will be at the best to get them over the line. |

Agree- his disposal was pretty atrocious, but we noticed it cause he got a fair bit of it. He needs composure, and he will get it through the confidence acquired from a few weeks in the ones. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |
