Crows have got one less day to rest/recover from a very demanding game against Eagles in the west.
Pies to win by 28 points!

Nicksters' forgotten man-child Fogarty has 5 goals.

Fogartys kicking from around 40+ was perfect. He’s always been a lovely thumping kick. We won’t want him getting to many looks at goal.

Not a bad sidestep:

I don't think that as good as Checkers has been, that he'll be able kick 4 goals on Talia. On Hartigan maybe. Sloane will probably play as he's a tough little bugger. Hopefully the Optus turn around comes into play and many of their players pull up sore. We will need to play much better than we did against Suns and Dreamons to get the job done against the West lakes ferals

Please, please please Bucks, don't set us up for a September campaign with Madgen at full back and Roughead up forward. Sure, we got away with it against the toffs, but I shudder at the thought of Madgen playing on Hawkins, Lynch, Reiwoldt or Kennedy. It's got disaster written all over it. Sad

Agree with you RudeBoy and other posters above who have said the same. Bucks did say they would try out various options to maintain some structure without Coxy. Let's hope he tries another option against the Crows!

Flog the Crows, make them look useless, and give Grundy reason to not go there!

Adelaide is another team beaten with outside run, as Essendon showed. I say let's go with a fully small forward line and run the ball, and take risks through the middle.
OUT: Daicos, Madgen.
IN: Noble, T.Brown.

Roughy goes back, Noble on the wing, Tyler Brown through the middle/high half-forward.
Bonus if JDG can get up, in which case I'd put him in for Thomas, and play him in the centre.
Go Pies. We are better than them. Be emphatic.

I agree with all of you Rudeboy CHB and PyreneesPie, I don't like that structure either. And I hope Bucks comes around and puts Roughhead back where he belongs and brings in Goldsack forward as a marking target along with WHE and Checkers! Elliot should still have a leap on him. We will miss the down the line escape to a marking target! But we need to move the ball around to the wings and escape that way. Noble with his endurance and speed should be looked at for such a role. It would mean leaving Daics out but them are our needs.

Giving Roughead the Cox role (tall forward and backup ruck) made sense on a number of levels and worked as well as can be expected. Don't forget folks, we're trying to make the best out of a bad situation. We started the season with only three players capable of filling this role and they're all out injured,

Some of you are suggesting that we go without this role and play with a small forward line. If we do, we'll get smashed on the long kicks into the forward line and the long kicks done the line. No point having a stronger backline if you can't kick a winning score.

Mossi's suggestion of bringing Goldsack into the side to play as a tall forward and leaving Roughy down back has some merit but, as much as I like the sack, he's not tall enough to play the role as well as Rough. It also means that the backline has to cope with a major disruption when Rough takes his turn in the ruck.

Chance for Sloane to miss with an eye injury. I expect him to play though.
I would bring in Noble if Daicos can't get up.
I thought Roughy looked really good in the first quarter on Saturday. He got to a lot of contests in the forward line and was a good target. I'd prefer him to play back, but it's something that could be worth trying again this week.

Thomas was really good this week. Cant see him losing his spot.
