Anyone know how this guy is travelling?
At 197cm and listed as a KEY FORWARD, I'm very interested.
I know he was talked about as a longer term prospect, but I recall hearing he was one of the better talls in the draft, with Cox and Reid and obviously McDonald going much earlier.
Will he be ready to get a game in 2021? Could he be the god damn FF we've been waiting for? _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

He's travelling really well though still very skinny. Lovely mark and good kick on goal. Should be ready to play sometime in 2022. |

I thought he recently missed a week or two with something like an “ illness “ as opposed to an injury. Happy to be corrected.
As above, he’s supposed to be a lovely kick, very athletic and good in the air.
Another Vic who has some ground to catch up but hopefully he debuts next year. It’s one pick we really need to get right. |

It’s gunna be a while till we see him but good things happen to those who wait. There were universal good reports on him when we drafted him. Nothing that some time and anabolic steroids can’t fix _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Thanks guys.
I'm keen to get a young key target in the forward line as you can see. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

He's raw, but very skinny. Would get destroyed by the current crop of key defenders he would be up against.
Think Harry McKay in terms of player. If he is good as him then we're onto a winner for sure. |

I want to be excited for this kid. So desperate for a young dominant figure in the forward line. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Of those that attend the VFL games live, can anyone offer objective insight on McMahon to date? He's been lining up in defence but hasn't been mentioned in 'dispatches'.
Bit hard to get real perspective watching the VFL replays to gauge how they cover ground / read play.
While no need to rush these kids, given we're undermanned in the tall department down back, is he close to a debut? _________________ "The Club's not Jock, Ted and Gerry" (& Eddie)

Think Josh Daicos and how we held him back in two,s
When did enter the big side he was very close to ready
Could McMahon be on a similar path _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Don’t think there is a blueprint as such. When Collingwood think he is ready to rumble, play him then. I have no evidence to support this theory but I reckon that young players are not as intimidated as they were 20 years ago to play AFL seniors. I reckon most are mentally better prepared and physically used to playing against bigger bodied players. In county footy it is not uncommon to see really talented 15/16 year olds picked to play seniors. _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Agree it’s not one hat fits all
On a case by case basis
Hope the kid has what it takes _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |
