He was way off in his return to afl earlier this year, pretty obvious he was going to be struggling. All the best to a top bloke, he’s one of the good ones

Rare that bit part players come to the Pies and have such an embracement from the faithful. Fantastic value recruitment. Played 63 very good games for us similar to Leigh Brown who played 65 and gave great service.

Sad but thanks Roughy for everything and all the very best. Glad you are hanging around the club for awhile.

Thanks for everything, Roughy. Happy retirement.

Happy he's sticking around behind the scenes for the rest of the season.

I’m also saddened to hear of Roughead’s retirement. He’s been a great club man for us over the years, and has virtually held the backline together for the past four years or so.He seems like a great person as well, and has earned the respect of everyone who has played with him, which says a lot about his character.

Enjoy your retirement,Roughie.

Magnificent player who made the most of his talents and played in a premiership team for the Western Bulldogs. We were very lucky, mate to have you at the tail end of your AFL football career. Enjoy your retirement.

Shame about Roughead retiring now, was pretty reliable there for a while and we needed the height, reach and leadership down back. Maybe we’re going for two mid season draft picks now?

I liked Rougheads speech too, but what’s he wearing? My dad wants his woollen jumper back!

Sad to see him go as he was a very reliable key defender for us, who will be hard to replace. He seemed to be a pretty down to earth and genuine person as well. We are certainly in desperate need of a couple of new talls. Maybe there's something there in the mid season draft? Let's hope Dean and/or Kelly can play a role for us in the seniors before season's end, though in truth, neither of them are genuine talls. They are more medium-talls.

Thankyou to Jordan Roughead who played such a pivotal role in our defence over the last few years. He was a huge part of the core in an elite defensive structure that almost won a GF in 2018. He has been a great leader, and has always fought for the highest standards among the playing group. I am happy to see that he will remain involved with the club for the rest of this year at least.
Well done Roughie. We will miss you on the field.

If he'd been with us in 2018, we'd have won the flag. Crying or Very sad

I knew a few weeks ago that Jordan was most likely not going to be playing again for us. I was hoping that it was going to change but his body couldn't hold up anymore.
