Pretty happy with this. Not happy we bent over for Henry but there ya go. I think we did alright in this trade period and a couple of good picks 16,25& 27. In the draft. Looks like Poulter gets a nod.

Good pickup, even if he did turn out to be another Woewodin we’ve given up nothing for him in reality.

But if he does provide the clearance specialist we’re so desperately lacking it’s a huge win.

Great trade period, lost no one that got us to a PF and added 4 players who can hopefully fill gaps. Worst case scenario and we’ve improved out depth.

'Tom Mitchell produced another fantastic season in 2021, averaging 34.3 disposals, 4.8 tackles and 4.1 inside 50s a game. He had 30 or more disposals across 15 games and had more than 40 touches on four occasions, leaving him with his third Peter Crimmins Medal in five years. In 2022, Mitchell has continued to provide a strong midfield presence and great mentorship for the club’s recently drafted midfielders in a new era under coach Sam Mitchell. Halfway through the season, Mitchell leads his side for disposals with an average of 27.7 per game'. (Hawthorn Website)

A player of his quality and football IQ will be of enormous benefit.

Degoey, Crisp, Mitchell, Adams, N Daicos, Pendlebury, Lipinski, J Daicos rotating through the midfield. Like it.

Can’t argue with this. Throw in McCrae and McInnes when they beef up a bit. And Carmichael.

Out Henry (good riddance) 41, 51 (Doubt we used them anyway).
In Mitchell and pick 25.

Well done for mine.

Welcome to the club,Tom.It’s always good to have a Brownlow medallist join Collingwood, because we know the umpires would never vote for one of our home grown players to win that award.😉

From the club website:

Quote:
Collingwood has completed a three-way trade with the Geelong Cats and Hawthorn that will see Tom Mitchell arrive at the Club.

Collingwood have signed Tom Mitchell from Hawthorn and received pick 25 in the 2022 National Draft, in exchange for Ollie Henry who will depart the Club for the Cats. Collingwood will also give picks 41 and 50 in the upcoming draft to Hawthorn.
