You need to have players who play in the dirt and grime when the game gets tough and Taylor Adams is one of those players who leads by example. Unfortunately ocassionally he gives the ball away in critical situations where the score is tight and can make the difference between winning and losing. He needs to fix up that part of his game and when he does hell be winning Copeland trophies instead of Sidebottom and Pendlebury. Tony Shaw wasnt a good kick but I cant remember if he turned the ball over as much as Taylor Adams. Adams actually has a good kicking action. I think its more that he wills himself to the ball so often and then is under mental pressure when he gives the ball off. Most players dont play their best football till they play between 100-200 games. I dont think Tony Shaws first 100 games were that good. Adams is the same. His best football is ahead of him. |
Agree he needs to cut out these Big Turnovers he can be Prone to do.
He did that late in the GF missing his Target by a long way and I think it Resulted in a Goal(Maybe even the Winner) _________________ I am Da Man |

A really good comparison Dave. He's certainly got the guts and courage of Tony Shaw.
Actually, I reckon his disposal skills, especially by foot, have improved exponentially over 2018. There were times when he was shooting for goal and I had to cover my eyes, only to uncover and see that he'd kicked truly!!
He'd have to be seriously considered for the next captain, when the position is vacated by Pendles. He's also more int he vein of Nick Maxwell and I reckon Maxy might just be my favourite captain of all time. |

Apparently there is a clause in Adams' contract that states "thou shall never kick laterally across the ground" direct to an opposition player! _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

more rehashing of criticism that is outdated. you dope.... the same clause could go in Howe's contract! you were probably that moron who banged on about Sinclair not being able to kick because he made some kicking errors in his first 3 games (probably due to nerves)....
To the montage producers, i reckon a great montage could be made of the times adams has hit a forward laces out with a beautiful dart of a pass (but let's focus on the errors he made early in his career).
Adams is a pure star! You are not! _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

duggie, i'm only grumpy with a few deadbeat posters. Parmigano and inxs (the empty one). Other than for those two morons, i will always be a happy optimistic and positive poster who is always looking for a good debate. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

in all seriousness, if you are going to give out a long term deal, Adams is the kind of player you could give it to. He is so committed to his footy, you just know that he is going to work his ass off every day (even though he has guaranteed money). He's also going to do whatever it takes to be one of the best in the business.
Just look at the way he's worked on his disposal. The guy now makes smart decisions, works within his physical limitations and has improved his kicking to the point where he is one of our best forward entry passers. He and DeGoey especially have a very good chemistry.
One of my favorite players and i'll be one of Nathan's favorites too (isn't it funny that saying that is allowed on this site these days after being taboo for the past 5 years). _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |
