Doesn't matter how well or poorly the team played through July. Its August that matters. Teams contending for the flag need to build through August playing more frequent passages of finals-style footy. So forget about recent losses - just key players being aware of where the team sits inside the Top 8 and being aware of what lies ahead. But now the gloves come off. The aim is to arrive in September with the hardest, most polished and healthiest list.

Out: De Goey, Quaynor, Crocker, but Noble is still listed as an emergency – maybe Roughead or someone else is going to be withdrawn?

That's weird, I saw Noble on there on the AFL website earlier. On the teamsheet inside the game review as well, Daicos was the other out.

WHY wasn't Goldsack given a farewell game ???? He will most certainly retire at seasond end, has been a wonderful clubman, and deserved a farewell game, surely ud have to pick him ahead of Magden, ???? Bloody useless bastards on the selection panel, no heart for a great club stalwart. !!

I get what you are saying, but the club has to start making decisions based on head, not heart.

Doesn't matter what Goldy has done in the past...the past is the past. If he isn't god enough to get a game, then he doesn't get a game.

We need to adopt the same ruthlessness with our list too. If a player is perpetually injured, then get them off the list regardless of how good a bloke they are, or how great they "can" be.

Goldy would have given his all against the Suns, surely hes better than bloody Magden, the new version of Jason Wild ??

^ maybe PnC, but then maybe the club knows his best isn't even close to good enough anymore.

The end can come very quickly for some, and perhaps it has for Goldy. If he isn't good enough, I don't care how much effort he puts in.

Put Dave in or even Joffa....I' sure they'd give it 150%, and even bleed for the club, but they wouldn't be good enough.

I like the ins.
Adams and Wills, two inside mids, just what we needed.
Greenwood back in defence is fantastic.
Concern is the lack of firepower in the forward line, with JDG out, along with Stepho of course.
Time for Jamie Elliott to make a statement.
Our midfield needs to dominate, and then the issue of a depleted forward line won't matter.
I am pretty confident now, seeing these inclusions, that we will win well.
(Sorry to the traitors who are backing us to lose for "easy money".)

Poor decision not to select Noble IMO.

Only went out of the side because of injury and with us having a need for speed through the middle of the ground every AFL game he can be exposed to prior to finals would have been beneficial and allow us to better judge his potential worth to the side come September.

I like the 3 ins but I reckon Noble would have been a handy in I would have dropped Trav for him.
