Massive game today! If we win, our spot in the top 8 is very safe but their will be massive repercussions if we are defeated so the boys really need to show something today.
Our form hasn't been great since the bye or the last quarter of the Carlton game in round 7 if you want to be technical so I hope the boys are due for a big performance. The Bombers are playing decent football lately but there's nothing to say that they'll own us today either.
The inclusions of Ball, Maxwell and White are beneficial for us. Ball hasn't been in great form this year but we need some inside players for this game. Maxwell is a huge inclusion for our defence. He'll be able to provide the other defenders with some leadership, structure and organisation. I've been critical of White lately but hopefully his stint in the VFL has made him realise that he needs to do more for the senior side than he has done in recent times. Pity that Elliott isn't playing but hopefully Cloke has a good game and converts his opportunities when they arise. I'll be very interested to see how Swan performs today as well considering his record against Essendon which has been brilliant in recent times.
I have a good feeling about this and I tend to be mostly unconfident when we're the underdog. I don't think Essendon is that good and the best thing that could have happened last week was for them to win as opposed to us losing. As long as they don't overrun us with their leg speed and we don't allow them a fast start like we did on ANZAC Day this game is easily ours for the taking.
Can't wait to be there today!

I agree Dave and I think that's what has been missing in our defence in the past few weeks with Maxy being absent from the side. He provides us leadership and structure in that area of the ground.
It's worrying though that there seems to be a lack of leadership elsewhere if Maxy isn't playing in the senior side for whatever reason. He's not going to be here forever.

Don't know why but I am filled with a feeling of dread about today's game. Hoping for once we can win one of these season defining games.

Me too. Haven't felt like this for a while.
Hopefully we'll be feeling pretty good by the end!

Nice, positive post by young Jezza, he reminds me of myself as a young PIesman fanatic, though I was back then, probably a bit more of a loudmouth at games at Vic Park, with my mates. Safety in numbers back then !

Kennedy as the sub is ridiculous given we have loaded up older slower players, unless Bucks has told Swan to explode for a half and then plans on subbing in Kennedy to replace him after he is spent. Not gonna happen though
