^ interesting footage. The cop is respectful, and even friendly. Hardly the vicious racists usually portrayed. And then, when they finally shoot a guy that fired on them first, the family and activists call it an “execution”. What are we to do when no one cares about the truth any more ? _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

Sad but true.
Certainly there has been trigger happy cops, as shown by this thread, so I quoted it for balance. Sad that the police are so distrusted or easy to blame that they now have dash cams body cams, I’m guessing next the guns will have a camera attached. I seriously doubt there is many truly racist bigoted cops choosing to take innocents, or even criminals down, based on race or anything else. But one can taint so many.
The video certainly shows why the cops might feel apprehensive when pulling over suspects. _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

There’s nothing sad about requiring accountability from those who wield power; anyhow, as you point out, in this case it seems to have served as vindication for the police. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

I agree that when a police force has the power to shoot to kill, a record of their actions is desirable. Personally I’d rather go back to an unarmed ordinary police force with armed backup, and savage penalties for any criminal who fires on unarmed police. I suspect we would soon see far fewer killings that way on all sides. Decent gun laws would help too, of course. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

The crooks can get their hands on guns, no matter what the law states.
WA Police seize dozens of guns and homemade weapons in targeted operation
Many of the seized guns were converted from blank-firing firearms and replicas into fully operational guns capable of firing projectiles.
"In many cases these modifications have made the firearms very unsafe, for example by exposing the trigger and creating a significant risk to anyone who handles them," Sen-Sgt Hart said.

3d printing will pretty much end gun control, you can already print a perfectly functional firearm. Ammo with be harder to get than the weapons themselves. |

Some will, no doubt. But countries where gun laws are highly restrictive have far lower rates of gun crime. It’s really not worth debating, the evidence is so clear.
No doubt the technology will challenge the law. And then the law will change to challenge the technology (by restricting ammunition, or criminalizing certain software, or controlling 3D printer design, or more severely punishing those found in unlawful possession) That is not an argument for a gun free-for-all.
If you want citizens to have ready access to guns, you simply must have a very orderly and disciplined society. Britain had very liberal gun laws in 1920 but very little gun crime or GBH in general. That is because it had a functioning society based on a strong and widely shared Christian ethic, strong communities and stable families. If you take these away, and have ready access to guns, you get a slow mass murder. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

Also remember that the laws in many (most?) places restrict the carrying of knives (for example) in public, when of course they are very accessible and used in the kitchen and elsewhere. Thus, even widespread availability and need in certain circumstances haven't been assumed by society to mean there should be lawlessness. |

If you're a male in the USA your chances of being shot and killed by police are 20 times higher than that of a female.
It's time for men to stand up!
Of the 987 people shot and killed by police in 2017, 940 were men, 45 women and 2 unknown.
457 (431 male) were white
223 (214 male) black
179 (174 male) hispanic
128 (121 male) other/unknown.
This is clearly misandry... where is the uproar?!?

maybe its time for them to sit down shut up and put their guns down!!
how many cops were injured but not killed in the line of duty? im guessing body armour saved a few.
how many of these men were killed by police: a/ in self defense, b/ in defense of someone else? _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |
