Stephen Colbert's trump piss-takes are hilarious, but I only watch them when there is some especially ridiculous and outrageous Trumpism for Colbert to send up, which is to say every day.
A recent example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocECX_13bJ4 - not even the funniest one, but still enough to make you change your undies. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

So spot on that it made me angry. So glad that I'm retired and don't have to deal anymore with the fools from Marketing, PR and HR (or 'People & Culture' as it was recently renamed at my last company ). _________________ Side by side. |

Sorry Stui.
But having read your posts over the years I'm certain you're not the type of HR person I'm referring to. Check out last nights episode of Utopia on ABC iView to see what we're talking about.
I suspect you're like the HR people of the past who supported their fellow employees and made their jobs easier. Sadly, those practical & helpful people were turfed out of my last workplace by the out-of-touch HR theoreticians. _________________ Side by side. |

I suspect i know the type you're referring to. In a past life I got in trouble for referring to them as "all icing, no cake" because they were trying to do all the fluffy stuff when the foundation wasn't there and would take time to build.
HR has to fit in with the organisation and the capability of the managers. You want to put the fluffy stuff in place you need to invest in the line managers first and build their capability.
I got a wonderful response when I once told some people in front of their (and my) boss that their plan was a glass castle built on a foundation of pixie dust.
They weren't happy. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

HR in action. I've been in that scene so many times, it's unreal.
It's called shit people management. We have stuff called employment law, glaring isn't feedback.
In a past life at Telstra I got assigned my own employment lawyer to keep me in line. The hardest arse of the lot, because i was able to talk my way around the others when they were being what I considered too risk averse. Got a crash course in employment law the hard way.
Except for the last bit with the formal warning for the manager, I could use that as a training video for managers for what not to do. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Very funny as was last nights episode - much the same thing. I thought last night's show was one of the funniest I've seen in a long time. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |
