Like most here I like the changes and hope Cox plays where his height will be a good match for Gawn. Gawn will more than match him, but gee, you have to start somewhere, so why not against one of the best ruckman in the the AFL. Grundy will be there to help Cox around the ground and Cox has the ability to play at F/F if he gets smashed at the centre bounces.
As for the other changes I'm hoping Blair and Macaffer don't play and Aish manages to keep his spot. Greenwood and Crisp are needed for the midfield rotations, while Goodyear looks the unlucky one to miss out, but he will be a much better player for the run he had against St Kilda. I'm optimistic we can pull off a win against Melbourne and stave off the doomsayers for at least a week or two.

it's as good a time as any to see if big cox has what it takes. give him a couple of games. what an experience it'd be for him to play on anzac day.

Sidey and varcoe bring back what we have been missing, poise. If Cox plays his first game on Gawn he will get smashed in the hit outs.

I'm pretty sure Cox rucked a bit against Gawn last year in a VFL match at Vic Park and did OK, and he's developed a lot since then.

Gawn?

What if it's the reverse?

Flaccid Cox unable to come to the party as Pies bend over for Demons.

Are we going to go the rest of the season with the juvenile cock jokes.

Its disrespectful to our new recruit and opens the door to other abuse.

What's next, branding the Pie's women's team the Collingwood Clits?

Don't start what you can't finish.

You'd only play big Cox if you wanted to show off your newdirection and Bucks clearly has a newdirection he wants to display to the footballing world.

It will be hard for him you'd think but hopefully his team mates can reach out and give Cox a hand with the job.

Cox needs to come out firing as should the rest of the team, that is, if we're to come out on top of the dees.

I'm sure the dees will be pushing hard and riding us every step of the way but we're always up for a challenge.

Will be interesting to see how the players react to playing with big Cox after the game.

Go Pies!

not so sute it is a new direction given we have already tried gault. we usually have at least two talls in the forward line.

The Collingwood Clits?

Sounds like someone has rubbed you up the wrong way this morning.

Relax, the 2010 premiership side contained all of Johnson, Ball and Goldsack.

Let the knob jokes commence.

LOL. I don't know how much of this is a play on Cox's name and how much is actually commentary on his attributes and the team, particularly given the comment regarding over the top political correctness previously.

In any case, let the double entendres flow!

In and out of the senior side since debuting in 2011 and this time last year Gawn was spudding it up in the VFL. Now he's 'one of the best'!

Shows how quickly things can turn around for footballers.

There's hope yet for Witts and Grundy.

Go Pies!

Let's just hope Cox isn't in and out of our senior side for the next four years and he can actually hold onto his spot through superior performance.

Yes I commented on this in another thread. I remember over the last few years when playing the Dees how Gawn was consistently towelled up. I remember the chastising he copped from our supporters behind the goal posts. And now he's considered one of the best in the comp!!!

He is 24 years old and is finding his straps. Witts is 23 and Grundy is 21. We need to hang in there. I suppose the Dees had an old stalwart in Jamar carrying some of the burden whereas we are relying solely on two young and developing big men.
