Imagine being a "Football Manager". Get a call late at night, off season, the time of night no one really rings unless its trouble. Doesn't matter what team.
You've said good night, read a bit of the novel from the night before, just nodding off to sleep, may have been a asleep a while & then the phone rings....
Not necessarily in this order but listening to what Balme has said on KB''s show occasionally these sort of things are put in place:
1. Need to "manage" the situation;
2. Call the president, board memebrs, is the captain called (as long as the leadership group are not involved including el capitano);
3. Call the players, find out what the f*ck happened, re check the version of events;
4. Have or do the police need to be involved? Maybe they're the ones who called;
5. Call the club lawyer, need to draft a media statement; &,
6. Call the major sponsors, reassure....
I'm sure these days each club has a defined set of protolcls or procedures to follow
Could be any team as we all know...

It would be a fair bet that there's probably a few mental health issues going on here, but how thick are players to allow themselves to be photographed in these situations? Even the densest of dense black holes would not be as thick as these players. What happens when brain no 2 takes over from brain no 1. |
