An absolute outrage!
That is fair dinkum the worst decision in the history of the game. So your allowed to job people now? I don't care how hard it was, if its a strike it gets a week at least.

Retaliation is treated no differently. The incidents are treated as individual. Selwood's hit was seen as lower impact.

the guy who starts it (and the falls over like barry hall hit him, not a love tap)and has a bad record, gets off, the guy who retaliates but has a good record gets three.
how can Brisbane not fight that?
how can the newspapers not explode

They will, don't you worry about that, this will leavre a sour taste in all mouths I would have thought.
Even if the AFL appeasing media leave it alone, anyone who knows anything about the game will be outraged.

But arguably retaliation is reckless whereas selwood was intentional.
Regardless, the mrp routinely adjust intent, severity to get the outcome they want. To come up with a result where selwood gets nothing and Raines gets 3 weeks is disgraceful |

I can't beleive no one has cleaned up selwood ala Ballantyne yet. Talk about serial pest - serial cheaters are just as annoying. Regardless, we can beat the pussies with or without him, the injustice is nothing new in the AFL.

Retaliation is deemed irrelevant. Both hits are seen as intentional. Selwood's was seen as being below a reportable level of impact (Raines suffered no ill effects). Selwood fell to the ground and was in the hands of trainers after the Raines hit. On impact, it would be difficult to argue that Selwood's hit was more severe than Raines's.
