went along tonight. essendon as the home team have it sussed. same game day experience as their etihad games. no ott and unnecessary smug cams. the breaks were punctuated by music but that was it. half time had the auskick and also the chemist warehouse comp they had last night.

so so simple.

Lol! Chemist warehouse comp!

For the drug cheats! Bizarre

Would they PLEASE stop showing those tweeted images from the crowd. When the play is at the opposite end of the field I look to the screen to see what it happening. Instead Of seeing the play or a replay of what has just occurred I get to view the image of some retard who has no interest in the game but is inanely posing for some profound image. If you are going to do this put it on the side of the screen, not the main one. Same goes for all those adverts for raffle ticket and other crap.

Give it a rest. We now have the best screen ever at the MCG and a good percentage of the time we see crap being displayed.

How about the power that make these illogical decisions realise that THE GAME IS THE ENTERTAINMENT AND THAT IS WHAT WE ARE PAYING OUR MONEY TO SEE.

There is plenty of time in the breaks to screw us over with what they call entertainment.

Yeah, gotta agree with that. Breaking news: someone on Twitter wrote "go the pies!". Must convey that to the crowd immediately, otherwise how will they know?

Seems to me that the AFL is trying to bump up the entertainment (outside footy) to give value for the extra money it now costs to see a game. Sort of like when a sandwich bar puts heaps of the cheap stuff on a roll to justify the outrageous price.

Yep. They've already been doing this for years with grand final tickets. Remember when an ordinary fan could still get into the grand final and not have to pay half a grand or more for it? I don't, but I'll wager that the half-time 'entertainment' was far less extravagant back then too.

Likes:
- love footy.
- love the Pies.
- Pies winning
- drinking long necks in Collingwood Cricket Club rooms under the Sherrin stand at half time.

Dislikes:
- not having access to the best seats on the wings even though they're sitting vacant, good old days of first in best dressed were just fine by me.
- what dickwad gets to pick "best available" seats when you buy them on-line for the MCG, according to who's taste. At least at Etihad you can pick your actual seat from a zone.
- food & drink prices.
- the constant blaring of bullshoit PA announcements.
- Pies losing.
- that the AFL and VFL draws aren't better aligned to allow non Melbourne people to see an occasional game at both levels in 1 trip. Got to watch half a dozen VFL games last year and enjoyed it immensely, particularly good to get back to Vic Park.

One of my big pet hates.

Funnily enough ticketmaster introduced this last year for the MCG and it was absolute bliss, it has disappeared this year back to the original format but now a shit load more categories to confuse you more.

Can't understand why a few extra categories has made them go back to the old format, especially when they would have spend money on a system to allow you to pick seats in rows in a designated bay that is open for sale (regardless of which category the row is in).

The unnecessary cringe worthy Americanisation of the game. Not in the Australian culture (maybe Sydney?) and never will be.
