I think Bluey was stiff and Ablett got him removed. I have not been a particular fan of Eade either I must add.

Culture issues have persisted for a while at GC. In fairness to Caroline Wilson, she makes a good point.
Ablett does what he wants, Campbell Brown was loose, Nathan Bock had a history of problems. Hunt was obviously problematic too and he had taken Bennell under his wing....to name a few

Their problems have preceded Eade's reign. Don't think he was the Pies problem either. I think players like Swan, Wellingham, Jonno, Dids, Heater etc were mucking up long before Eade got to the club and Bucks et alia has tried to rein them in.

As for whether he is a capable contemporary coach, that's another issue.
But welcome Gordo

Thank you so much for using the correct spelling of rein. We may be the last two in the world who know this.

On another matter, I heard on the telly at the weekend the name of the excellent young player we got as part of the Wellingham deal - can't remember who it was but I can remember saying "hallelujah"

Hold your horses ...

Exactly. We are not going to let him give this grammatical reign of terror free rein even if his wrath does rain down upon us.

Eade did us little favours, I reckon, never really suited us. Like the ol fella at the scum, he is past his best at coaching, past his use by date, as evidenced by the suns woeful start, cant see him taking the suns to the finals, not in a month of sundays.

Yep, McKenna must be vomiting in his mouth watching the Suns unravel.
Wherever Eade goes, mediocrity always follows. And injuries. And that virus Lappin.
FAIL.

Funny - same thread started by TD on Bigfooty.

Is this your new alias Dave or your shadow.

Either way - welcome to Golden Gordon

I don't read Big Footy, but I will bet my house on the fact that Dave The Man stole the idea from this thread. Laughing

TD is DTM on big footy. He's been guilty of starting a thread on BF first before here, but blatant thread stealing from another poster on Nick's? Really Dave....

Hmm. Should I sue? Laughing

Glad to read some interesting responses to my idea pro and con. Thanks everyone.

You obviously don't listen to him, Whatley and McCLure on ABC 666 pre games on a Saturday; to say he is bitter would be a dis-service to the word bitter.

Its actually a bit embarrassing, even McClure thinks its over the top judging by the awkward silences

Never understood why we got Eade; was there a question on Bucks ability, and hence the assistance/back-up? Did they actually think Bucks needed him?

Bucks doesn't strike me as the type of fellow who would appreciate potential rivals all up in his business......

we got eade when walsh left. eade took on a dual role to cover aspects of walsh's role and that of the ill-fated doc.

He was one of the problems to be sure but probably not the only one. I'm glad he is gone and was never happy with the appointment.

CCJ, no I don't listen - and even if I wanted to, my only hope would be via internet streaming.

Regardless, McKenna is entitled to feel bitter - most coaches get sacked while their team is on the slide down the ladder. His was on the up-and-up.
Dickhead Ablett tries to be the hero and break McTaggers tackle, and paid the price. For himself, for the coach, and for the club. FAIL.
