good for Tim, but i think he has had enough chances this year already. We will not learn anything else about him in the next two weeks.

We are going to finish 12th or 13th again 4 years out of the finals. The majority of our team have lost far more games that they have won in their time at Collingwood. Why don't we try to be a bit daring? Broomhead has probably been dropped three or 4 times this year already. Nothing more to see here, regardless of what he did aginst a sub par vfl team,

"29. Tim Broomhead
Statistics: 19 kicks, 4 marks, 22 handballs, 41 disposals, 10 clearances, 4 inside 50s, 1 rebound 50, 4 tackles, 3 goals
Notes: Lining up for his third consecutive VFL game, Broomhead once again showcased his senior credentials when the Pies met North Ballarat on Sunday. The South Australian seemed to have his hand in every contest on Sunday, as he worked tirelessly between the arcs for his game-high 41 disposals, of which 15 were contested. Never one to shy away from the contest, the 24-year-old gathered 10 clearances, four tackles and kicked three goals to top off a day out at Victoria Park. Broomhead will be one putting his hand up for a senior recall against the Cats in the AFL this week."

i hear you, i had hopes fpr Broomhead and hope he gets there, however he has done f all in the seniors everytime he gets in.

That is more an indication of what he will do against Geelong, rather than a North ballarat outing.

Here's the official VFL stats. They identify him a having had 3 effective kicks in the game:

http://websites.sportstg.com/team_info.cgi?action=PSTATS&pID=201486590&client=1-3020-111713-436950-25836210&ocompID=436950

He didn't get brought up after the Sandringham game, when he kicked 6 goals and was said to have been second-best on the ground. Nor after the Geelong game, when he was in the best 6 and kicked 4 goals. Nor after the Werribee game, when he was in the best 3 and kicked 5 goals.

It's much more important to bring up the guys we're not sure about keeping next season to have a look at them in the seniors.

Personally, I don't think Broomhead will make it at AFL level. He had 40 disposals against Coburg a couple of seasons back and I actually expressed the view somewhere on Nick's that he shouldn't come up because he wasn't senior-size (the Coburg midfield were obviously instructed to play through him when they had the ball because he had no physical presence). He was brought up, though, and didn't do much. Here's Broomhead's stats against Coburg on 30 May 2015: http://websites.sportstg.com/round_info.cgi?action=MATCH&fixture=124365753&client=1-3020-111713-339770-20320276 - and here's his stats in the seniors the following week, against Melbourne: http://afltables.com/afl/stats/games/2015/041120150608.html

The same will probably happen if Sweeper is brought up this week but they have to test him when he's in good touch. He's contracted until the end of 2018, too, so I expect they see something in him.
