Some people really need to learn to relax!

For starters, we are a month behind many teams. By virtue of our late finish to 2018, 2019 started later than many of the shite teams. Other teams mooted to be great in 2019 are in the same boat. West coast... what happened to them last night??! Melbourne ditto. Crows. Ditto. Look out for Essendon to beat GWS today too.

The good teams will NOT be cherry ripe now. They will be cherry ripe later! When it matters!

We played rusty, we clearly had 3 or 4 underdone players.

We lost by 7 points to a team that is clearly more advanced at this stage of the season and to be honest, we probably still could have won.

Whatever I have on us winning the flag this year, I’ll double it in the morning! We’re exactly where we need to be!!

West Coast is nothing when Kennedy or Darling are not playing. Shows you the importance of a key forwards.

Good post

So let’s talk facts and leave out opinions for a minute.

Fact - we are no differently placed to where we were at his time last year. If we lose to Richmond, we will still be no differently positioned to where we were last year.
Three of the four preliminary finalists from last year were beaten in round one on the weekend and only Richmond is gifted the luxury of playing Carlton in round one every year. Speak to anyone who is involved in AFL footy and they will tell you the best time to get hold of a good team is in the first month of the season.

I’m reverting back to opinion now but I believe Adams is huge component of us cashing in on the new 6 6 6 rules. Every club has injuries but he’s a huge loss. The perfect situation for us is to have Adams feed the ball out to our skilled runners rather than our skilled runners gaining first use in tight and then not being there in space.

Finally, if the naysayers on here still can’t be swayed by any of the above, then go back and look at your same posts from round one last year.
They’re probably cut and paste but reflecting back might just help you all to add some balance after the first round of a 6 month season.

Now that's a bit weird, unless the bookies' odds have got more favourable. (I don't think they have.)

Just watching GWS keep Essendon basically kickless for nearly three quarters. Their early draw may help to bring our competition back to the pack (until we play them, that is).

Not necessarily. If, say, every team but one apart from us is caught for systematic drug use, we could still finish 2nd, get the double chance and go 0 and 24.

Nor Richmond or WCE looked that good. You're under-selling our ability to win those games.

Not saying we will or won't. The comp is too tight to declare any predictions with any confidence.

But it is important to finish round 6 at without a major W-L deficit. Otherwise too much catch up.

It's not easy to predict, but there haven't really been huge upsets. The Demons loss may be the biggest upset of the round. Pies & Crows losses are repeats of last year. Interstate home-ground advantage otherwise is huge. (Freo probably weren't expected to kick 21 goals, but Freo winning by something isn't a huge shock.)

The Kleenex tissues out a bit early —bugger me

If they win agin Tiggers and Burnt Toast there’ll be a queue of the doubting ones lining up to buy Silvo to polish the certain Premiership cup

Teams have had shocking starts still winning flag so take it easssssssyyyyy
