They could start by telling the public who is in charge of the video review. In cricket we know who the third umpire is. Then they could continue by making sure the guy in charge knows basic stuff about video footage. They should also demand from the broadcasters at least an acceptable level of camera work and tech support. When video reviews first came to cricket, some broadcasters didn't have square-leg cameras for the run outs. That doesn't happen now.
If the AFL doesn't do anything, it'll cost a club a GF. This isn't the first or second time they've stuffed up. e.g. in Port v. Adelaide there was that Josh Jenkins point that was awarded a game-winning goal.

It's true we didn't deserve to win the way we played but given that the scores were so close all day, the decision should've been reviewed & adjusted as close to the event as possible.
Forget about reviewing it after the ball is bounced in the centre or changing the scores at a later stage, all way too late.
What should've happened was wait until all the footage became available & continue on, doesn't matter if it took 10mins.
All I want to ask is what is the point in having all this available technology yet isn't reliable when needed the most?
In bloody Baseball they use that technology well. They need to, it could mean the difference between a runner being called safe/out on a pick off or stolen base, it's a game of inches.
I just don't want to witness come September if we happen to miss out on a home final or worst still, miss out on the final 8 by a game.

I never get this comment! Even if we played shot, if we win we deserve it, we lost by 4 points, they were given an extra 5 points, get it right we win by 1

| In the early days a score bungled like that you just cop on the chin.... that's the game we'd say what goes around comes around... The AFL....we want score review to stop this from happening, so they bring in this sloppy system that is run by a bunch of flogs and all the AFL say is ....Oh well..... AFL administrators are a joke...they will seriously destroy the beautiful game of ours just watch...... |

But in the early days we didn't have the technology available, so you had no other choice but to cop it on the chin.
I don't think in this day & age we should accept a sloppy review system where it could cost a side a win in a regular H&A game, a Final or God forbid a GF.

Simple, game is played differently based on the score. Try being the local club the other week running down the clock cos they are in front, after the game the umpires said the scoreboard was wrong! Think it ended in a draw?
An incorrect decision in the 2nd or 3rd qtr isn’t match deciding! |
