Is there no end to the stupidity of humans?
Wasn't Harambe in America too? Those idiots, and a few morons here, thought killing the poor animal was the right thing to do. Glad to see there are some people with brain cells between their ears and realise it's not the animal's fault that people are stupid. |

Nobody thought it was the right thing to do, just that with the life of a child too young to know better on the line, it was the only option available.
Wether the parents should have anticipated the child being able to gain access to the enclosure is another debate.
You would think the custodians if the animals would have a responsibility to make sure no one, certainly not a small child, could gain access.

Nope no end at all it seems and the pursuit of selfies is flushing out some Grade A+ numpties
Yep Harambe was in Cincinnati At least this zoo doesn't blame and kill an animal (who shouldn't be in a zoo to start with but that's a whole other argument ) because of the actions of stupid reckless humans!! |

Took the dog for a walk and went past a Thai bloke trying to peel the tin off a car wash . On a ladder, one leg , on the top, not fully open and he had no one holding it. Heard a crash and he had fallen off. OH ans S is paid lip service to here. He was a bit sore but the bloke who owns the car wash came out of his house and started abusing the poor bloke. Maybe if he had of helped it wouldn;t have happened. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |

2 sides to every story, or maybe 3.
https://www.azfamily.com/news/woman-attacked-by-jaguar-at-wildlife-world-zoo-says-she/article_9e1640ca-4452-11e9-a032-cfa78e780cfa.html?fbclid=IwAR0LeeuBT2IecdyxnYKNrZ61nLrNQVvxLgKVHj9Sv6FuaHyMjJAai-6SByc
Thats not much of a barrier, i bet people have sat on that ledge before for a rest, and Shes not the first person to be injured. They make it sound like she climbed into the actual enclosure, when that is not possible. It is possible for the jaguar to get a claw through the fence, and thats what happened. That concrete wall is seat height, and there is not much between it and the fence. very easy to just sit down or, yes, lean in.
More importantly what a horrible enclosure for the Jaguar. reminds me of the Elephant one at Melbourne zoo, no where near enough room for them. Werribee free range zoo is so much better, so much more space for the animals. if animals have to be in a zoo at all. _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

when we were in Bali we saw a guy climb out of a sewer, no protective gear, no hazmat suit, not even a mask, covered in poo! dont think OH&S is very high on the priority list for employers in certain countries!
and dont worry there is plenty of shit employers here too, and some BIG names... not good _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

An interesting question for descriptivist linguists: are they actually wrong? I think it's fair to say that the term has developed a colloquial meaning referring to the entirety of the female genitals or even the entire female pubic area (hence expressions like "I shaved my vagina", which is obviously literally impossible, or at any rate inadvisable...). Our first encounters with the term is often when we learn at school (or from our parents) that boys have a penis and girls have a vagina, and it's natural to conclude that those two things are parallel – when, in fact, they're really not at all, and indeed the vagina is not even part of the female external sex organs (and most people, of course, think of these things visually). You can't blame people for being confused. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |
