Next each player will choose a 'theme song' that plays over the PA system loud enough to be heard in Geelong whenver they kick a goal.

How do you apply?

I wanna inflict my assets on society, why should my husband be the only one to enjoy looking at my bod?

Just when I thought innovation had peaked with kiss cam, & smile cam. They are seriously pathetic. Along comes the 20/20 dancers. Stop copying other codes. We have done just fine without doing so for a long time. I'd rather watch the kids play or go get a beer & visit the loo. Don't need the fake crap that they keep trying to throw at us.

The cheer(less) squad has been a sad state of affairs for years now.

Well, there are 8 poles out on the ground for them to dance on.

Going by round 1 that shouldn't be too much of an issue. Wink

Umm, me too. I believe the mix is 50% male, 50% female. Very Happy Very Happy

Both sexes being employed. Which side are you batting?

Reckon it may be Ed's idea, borrowing it from the Melbourne Stars and 20/20 cricket. Can't see the appeal personally. All of the American stuff doesn't work for me like Kiss cam etc that the club replicates.

I remember a few years ago Ed wanted a Magpies choir to kind of replicate the singing and chanting you hear at English premier league or a Welsh rugby match.

That went nowhere as Australians just don't go for that stuff, certainly not at an AFL match. The best we did was the "COOOLLLINGWOOOOD" chant we had going a couple of years back when our cheer squad still had a pulse.

Why Eddie wants us to try and make our unique sport more like all the others has me stumped? Is it a touch of cultural cringe?

The game has been an epic spectacle for over a century and this trivial razzamatazz just cheapens it and brings a tacky element to our code that it just doesn't bloody need.

So the article states that it will be part of the pre-game entertainment and will involve 6 male and 6 female dancers who will be performing a street style hip hop routine as the club looks at ways to 'liven up the game day experience for fans'. FFS we don't need or want this garbage at our games. Nothing more than a bloody gimmick pinched from the US of A. This is an insult to fans. We don't need more entertainment on top of blaring music, kiss cam, hug cam. Maybe it's a ploy to distract fans from the fact that the team are playing like a bunch of drunken sailors and so they're giving us something else to focus on.
