From watching it on tv, it was Selwood that initiated the contact, Adams just hit him harder. Milked it for all it was worth, which you would expect from Selwood.

Take the week, Adams was probably close to being dropped anyway.

That's what I said, they replayed it so many times on the night and it looked like Adams was stationary and selwood ran into him.

If the AFL continue the anti collingwood culture and we struggle this year just watch the attendances drop dramatically. Less money if the coffers.

Quote:
Taylor Adams, Collingwood, has been charged with a level one engaging in rough conduct offence (125 demerit points, one-match sanction) for engaging in rough conduct against Joel Selwood, Geelong, during the fourth quarter of the round three match between Collingwood and Geelong, played at the MCG on Saturday April 5, 2014.

In summary, due to his previous poor record, his one-match sanction must remain at one-match, even with an early plea.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Geelong Football Club, the incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of four activation points, resulting in a classification of a level one offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He has a bad record of 68.75 demerit points carried over within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 193.75 points and a one-match sanction. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 145.31 points and a one-match sanction.

carry over points hurt.

The medical report from Geelong probably was to say that selwood had concussion.

He has permanent concussion. And whiplash for that matter with the way he throws his head around.

Thomas not going for sling tackle is bollocks! It is an intentional act where the head hits the ground, players know that they're not allowed to do it. Should be the same penalty as Fyfe and Adams, you chose to sling tackle and caused damage to the sacrosanct head, so you go for weeks.

Sling tackle it's more about the impact on the slung player. If Griffith had to be helped from the ground or worse then the penalty would have increased.

In the after match interview on the ground, Selwood said he had been hit on the chin....just making sure Taylor copped a week.

I hope you weren't expecting any class from Selwood...

^Remember that Adams made a choice of Collingwood over Geelong.
No sour grapes I am sure.

Make no mistake, this is Bucks biggest game as a coach.
A loss and top 4 is all but over, with top 8 starting to slip.
