We spend more $ on recruiting than any other club. We also have the most amount of development coaches in the AFL.

Our ROI for recruiting and development has been very poor.

Clearly the Dogs with the best drafting since 2010. Geez I would kill to have the Bont at Collingwood right now.

The Dees drafting hasn't been that great either. And its going to look even worse when we get Petracca and Weideman from them. Razz

Its a shame they brought in that bidding rule on f/s players. Imagine if we could have gotten Moore in the late 20s/early 30's. And it was the Dogs who bidded on Moore as well. Evil or Very Mad

The 2014 draft is looking very good for us. 2013... well who knows what kinds of players Freeman/Scharenberg could have been without the injuries.

Much to early to make a call on Sier, but I wonder how many would straight swap him for Adams right now?

Of the 14 players shown, 4 are defiantly in our best 22. 2 are very close, if not already, in our best 22. 3 have been traded. 1 has been delisted. 1 has had a horror run with injuries. 2 are fringe players who need to show more, although one has having a knee reco and could have been considerd in or close to our best 22. and 1 is far to early to make a call on.

Is it that far off the mark?

Not 1 of them contending for a Brownlow in their 1st or 2nd year.... disgraceful.

A recruiter can only speculate on a player. This includes talent, character and desire.

It is then up to the development team to bring out the true potential and dramatically improve a player.

In Buckley's time, how many players have improved significantly.

Have a good think.

Steele Sidebottom
Marley Williams
Alex Fasolo
Jack Frost
Jesse White
Taylor Adams
Jack Crisp
Travis Varcoe
Adam Oxley

Are you serious.

Sidebottom, Varcoe were already good players.

Frost, Williams, White, Oxley have stagnated.
Adams you might have a case for and Crisp had a good first year but has done nothing this year.

Fasolo is the only one who has significantly improved and he still has problems.

I'm talking about players who have been at the club 3 and 4 years who have just not come on as expected.

These include Grundy, Witts, Langdon, Sinclair, Blair.

And then there are those who have gone backwards including Cloke, Toovey, Brown, Greenwood.

These are guys who are regulars. Too many to improve as a team.

Do you see my point.

Fasolo is probably the only senior player that has improved from 2015 to 2016.

I did not know that the question excluded "already good" players.
I could easily mount a case that all those players have improved under Bucks. I thought that was the question.

So if Pendles started off as a champion in the making (should have won rising star), he would not be considered as a player that can improve?

See my point.
