don't know what the elements may bring but up here now we have cooler nights with heavy dew on the ground. this might play into the hands of the lions more so than us.
last night the lions had the exact amount of scoring shots to port late in the game but the points to goal numbers were opposite. we don't need that to happen because the goals to point difference might be closer for them this time around and as we all know our avenues to the big sticks is a cumbersome process. with score board pressure being non existing this season we'll need to some how change that otherwise we will drop our bundel and lose the unloosable.
Another unsettled line up in slippery conditions and a non existent system we lose.
ps l would love to see our first round picks play like we hope they can and not lost first gamers.

Not much rain where I am and the Gabba has good drainage, so not expecting conditions to be slippery.

Laughing Laughing Laughing Please...whatever you have been smoking I want some. Hooker and Hurley have re-signed. Heppel probably will resign. And if even he has not....wait let me start over...even if none of those players had signed they are worth a fortune...how would be pay for them (salary cap) and how would we trade for them seeing as we have next to nothing to work with...oh and one more thing...really another ex-Collingwood player coaching us? ...Nothing against Burnsy but i think we will be looking outside the nest if Buckley goes.

Ok, now i have put that pipe dream t bed, back on topic. Brisbane game. Look if we can put up a solid three quarters I can see us getting close with the outs Brisbane have. Sadly this game is at the Gabba. So I will be happy if we can stay within 3 goals....In our current situation a close loss is as good as a win as long as we can start over with the basics.

Maybe just maybe the Lions are more busted up this week than us.

A tough game up until halftime for them against Port following a strong showing against a tough Swans' side. A 6 day break following a trip from interstate. Didn't help us against Carlton.

However, who have we go left to pick this week? Any players coming back or just more players out?

That is the $50,000 question, I would have serious worries if the club are going to rush back say Varcoe, Adams - how bad is the knee?. As stange as it sounds unless they are forced changes from injury....I would like to see them keep the same 22. The reason is if the problem is "team continuity" well lets see what this 22 can do. The club has said we are building depth....lets see what the depth can do. Aish cost us two picks...far too much for him to be plying his trade in the VFL. See if he can find some form against his old team. My thoughts anyway.

After watching the Bears yesterday and we have to head up to the Gabba it's going to get ugly and Dayne Beams like Dale Thomas will have a smile at the end of the day. The club has been decimated by injuries and many of the youngsters cannot cope and the Senior players cannot fill all the holes.

Reid and Broomhead no chance to play by the looks of it.

In the last 3 seasons have we ever gone a week without an injury?

Well, November 2013 we were OK, I think - except for Swanny's wrists.

Two players we should put up to the trade table.

The Brions yesterday were woeful after quarter time. They looked like they threw in the towel. Their confidence is shot, our confidence is shot. It'll be a game for the ages this one.

Should this game be put on as the curtain raiser for the Southport Sharks game?

Might have to ask the AFL IF we can play players from the VFL List soon
