We won't encounter Melbourne until the Grand Final at the earliest.

^ If we win week 1, we could play Melbourne in the prelim. But you’re right that there’s no chance we can play them in the semi (they can only finish 5th or 8th now). The 6th vs 7th elimination final will be either Sydney vs GWS (if Melbourne win) or Sydney vs Geelong (if GWS win).

Yep, we could meet them in the prelim.

For this, we would finish 2 or 3 and win week 1
They would lose tomorrow, finish 8 and then win elim and semi.

A great result would be WC lose and finish 4th, but somehow beat Tigers week 1 and Dees knock Tigers out week 2. Wouldn't care what happened to us, just for the lols.

It's been a great ride. One of the most enjoyable seasons I've experienced as a supporter.

David and Cam are right. We can actually play Melbourne in a Preliminary Final potentially.

It's around 4am here (Northern Rivers of NSW). Pouring down, I'm happy to say. Not sure if it's a drought breaker yet, but at least some relief for farmers - and my Azaleas. Smile

442am here is Sth east Queensland and it's been raining for most of the night (well at least from when I went to sleep at 10pm)
Rain isn't heavy but has been light and steady
At a minimum would make the surface greasy
I'm thinking it won't suit talls
But the Gabba is a very good drying ground
I'll keep doing a rain dance here
Ok time to make the good wife a coffee and toast and we will sit on the balcony watch the rain tumble down and talk of the magpies greatness (ok I'll talk of that she will look at me and go really this early do we have too)

Just checked my rain gauge and we had 14mm since 6pm (it's now 612am so in 12 hours)
More than enough to dampen the ground and make it slippery
Any luck it keeps going
The weagles are lined up quite tall this could hand the lions a fair advantage if it gets wetter
I'm going to message Dayne this morning and tell him he could do us a massive favour right now. A lazy 35 with 3-4 snags would be a good day out for us

Eagles lead by 10 points at quarter time.

34-24.

Melbourne winning today is the best result for us because it will guarantee a home final against one of Sydney teams in week 2 should we fall against West Coast.

It will be a great result for the AFL also for week 1.

We're going to Perth I would imagine. Eagles can't finish 3rd now, and are in the box seat for 2nd. Only a miracle from the Lions would relegate them to 4th.
