Any Merrett to getting Zach?

I have concerns. Not getting Cameron who is getable though will cost heaps, Brown we don’t seem into, no Merret, where are we finding these players that Bucks talked about in his last presser?

Keeping in mind that he could come a lot cheaper next season as a free agent (is he restricted?), would Essendon accept this deal if Zach turns around and says "Make me a Pie"?

Mason Cox, Tom Phillips and Brayden Sier for Zach Merrett and pick 72.

Merrett is probably their best player, and they'll probably want quality draft picks or better players, which is something we cannot afford right now. So the other offer could be:

Phillips, Sier and future 1st for Merrett and future 3rd. (Keeping Nick Daicos in mind; is it wise to trade our future 1st?).

That could be two low offers, but there isnt much else we could offer for a player that could walk next year.

Or like previously stated, you wait a year and try to get him as a free agent? But risk losing him to another club or re-singing at Essendon.
